Strobed Men

The enclaves of Mercury's refugees are accustomed to strange robed figures searching of signs of ascension. The strangest of these are the rumoured strobed men in the Kuiper Belt.   Described as unnaturally tall and thin, the strobed men have tightly wrapped their arms and extremities with black bandages. Strobes of incandescent light erupt from even the tiniest gaps between the bandages.   The strobed men are completely silent. They do not speak, their footfalls are quiet, and some witnesses say they do not breathe either. Witnesses say that when they turn their attention to someone, the subject of their attention falls into something like a trance.   Purported victims describe a blindingly bright flash, and say it barely felt like any time had passed. Some were supposedly found with eyes full of stars.
