Map Index: B-4, C-3, C-4, D-3, D-4

Location: Central Aorlan

Geography: The imposing Kheleckoros Mountain Range, with elevations ranging from 3,300 to 24,000 feet, contains some of the world's highest peaks. Towering to great heights and snow-covered year-round, these rugged mountains feature jagged rock formations and massive glaciers on the flanks of the highest peaks. Impassable for east-west travel, only two winding perilous passes, Giant Pass in the north and Southern Pass in the far south, provide passage through this formidable range. With many peaks well above the treeline, the mountains offer an inhospitable environment for life, while scrubby vegetation clings stubbornly to the lower slopes. The interior of this range remains shrouded in mystery, with little known about the unique and dangerous inhabitants, as the treacherous terrain limits exploration.

Primary Population: None
Secondary Population: Draorn
Minor Population: Half-Ghruz, Herukh, Kharg, Kharz, Valtauri

Climate: Long bitterly cold winters with prodigious amounts of snowfall defines the climate. Many areas are locked in winter conditions year-round while on lower slopes, the warm summer sun melts much of the accumulated snow. Year-round however, there is a great hazard of being struck by sudden severe storms that arrive with no warning. These are usually accompanied by staggering winds and quickly falling temperatures. Many unprepared travelers have met their fate by finding themselves in an exposed area when they strike.

Wildlife: Common wildlife includes snow leopard, tahr, blue sheep, black bear, wolf, musk deer, and marmots.

Humanoids: Few humanoids live in these mountains. A few humans and elves venture into the mountains in summer but most leave well before the great snows start in the autumn.

Monsters: This great mountain range harbors many species of giants. Frost Giants number the most numerous but tribes of Cloud Giants and Storm Giants also exist near peaks and glaciers. Other monstrous creatures include argorth, glacier toad, blood hawk, and taer.

History: The mountains weathered the tumultuous events without many changes. The large earthquakes caused some avalanches and rock slides but the chaos storms did not reach this far north.

Today: The majestic peaks rise high into the sky and offer their magnificent beauty to those adventerous enough to venture there. However, this great mountainous wilderness contains many dangers to the unwary.
