Air Genasi Kingdom - CLOUDSCAPE
Though Genasi are not usually known to form their own communities and settlements, years of persecution and easy access to a portal back to their own Elemental Plane has emboldened the Fire, Air, Earth, and Water Genasi of Oroccid to form their own kingdoms. In order to promote loyalty and foster a sense of nationalism, the Kingdoms were founded and divided by the elemental force that defines each type of Genasi (air, fire, water, earth), which, while succeeding in forming communities and pride for their own people, also had some unfortunate side-effects.
After the founding of the 4 Kingdoms almost 90 years ago, the Genasi became somewhat racist toward their own kind, preferring not to mix with other Genasi not of their type. It was the lofty Air Genasi Kingdom (Cloudscape) founder/ruler Erin Huricus I that started the Elemental War (war between the Genasi Kingdoms) around 75 years ago, claiming that they should all be united under one ruler as they were all Genasi. Cloudscape then used their airships and higher ground to attack the Water Genasi Kingdom (Surfton) far below, taking them completely by surprise, but unable to completely subdue the Water Genasi as they fled to hidden shelters in the sea as their rulers, King Hydrox Monsoo sacrificed himself to cover their escape. At first the leaders of the Earth (Oreton) and Fire (Fugore) Kingdoms, Firmis Valanche and Magmis Tempris, rose to Surfton's aid, but Fugore betrayed them both by aligning with Cloudscape, having heard rumors of Oreton and Surfton making their own pact. Naturally the lithe Fire and Air Genasi tended to get along better than with their Earth and Water brethren, same for the heavier Water and Earth Genasi. As both sides geared up for the war to come, with Surfton becoming a focal point for the largest battle, each Kingdom was visited by King Alphanis Xavamir Alphanis deceased? and his First Knight, Glubglar Loadlum, emissaries on a mission of peace.
King Alphanis (along with Glubglar and the rest of the Death Joints) felt partially responsible for the state of affairs in Oroccid, knowing the Portals to the Elemental Planes did not emerge until they sent the Anachime Sudex back to the Positive Energy Plane almost 25 years previously. And with the Elemental War starting to draw in other Oroccid cities, including the Aarakocra of Wingperch, the Dwarves of Dwarven Kingdom - GIMLOTH and the trading town of Twin Falls, Alphanis knew that this war would decimate Oroccid for decades to come. He negotiated peace with the various Kingdoms, offering goods, trades, knowledge and technology from Domunz, which would help all of the Genasi Kingdoms advance much quicker than otherwise, and ensure their power base in Oroccid. Alphanis, as was his custom, also subtly threatened to enter the war with the massive Obreriault Army, suggesting if the Genasi Kingdoms could not exist in a peaceful state, it might be best for them to become Nationstates under the Obreriault Banner, a notion that did not sit well with any of the Genasi Leaders. After many weeks of deliberation, a truce was signed at the Eternal Current Monastery, the monks having stayed neutral in the war despite their Monastery being situated very close to the war zones.
Since that peace, the The Yaw Conglomerate made deals with Cloudscape to making airship shipping lanes between Domunz and Oroccid. The Dwarves of Thindriline helped establish the Champions League of Oroccid and Domunz CLOOAD to unite the various cities and races as they cheered on their Champions. The leaders of Chalinos helped rebuild Surfton and organize their defense forces, while both Magiault and Obreriault built libraries and schools of Magic, Trade, and Academia in many Orcoccid cities, especially the Genasi ones. The peace was an uneasy one, for while the Genasi respected the gains made by the Truce, and were somewhat cowed by the Military Might of Obreriault and King Alphanis, the wounds of the war were long remembered, especially those who lost family or leaders in the early battles.
With King Alphanis assassinated, each nation is now highly suspicious of just who ended the long-standing ruler's life, knowing every Genasi leader had motive to do so. With the fleeting peace now being reconsidered as a leaderless Obreriault searches for order following Alphanis's death, to most it seems only a matter of time till one of the Genasi Kingdoms makes the first bold move, and begins the march to a continuation of the Elemental War.
The ONLY Genasi kingdom with airship harbor, close ties with Aarakokra and Yaw Corporation
