Hyvam-Üðrënak

Hyvam-Üðrënak, or Hyvam-Hyvamto, is one of two surviving myths from the Kavamïŋ-Ïlýrhonid, the other one being Vëtam-Rëhotïŋ. The name refers to Hyvam, a central figure in the mythology, and it translates to 'Hyvam the Leader' or 'Hyvam the King'.

Of the two myths, Hyvam-Üðrënak is by far the longer one. It entirely encapsulates Vëtam-Rëhotïŋ and recounts the entire story behind the founding of the Ïlýrhonid Tribe. Due to sentiments like the Žömëp-Fýtaŋ, the myth would also come to encapsulate the founding of the Ïlýrhonid as a being in and of itself.

Narrative

The myth takes place within the context of the Kavamïŋ-Ïlýrhonid as a whole. Specifically, it asserts the existence of the Zar-Isyer-Akwor, which preyed on the Ibrófeneð species and are depicted as the main force the families are hiding from.

In the beginning of the myth, six families wander through the Amoŋot Desert and are implied to be recovering from a recent attack by the Zar-Isyer-Akwor. These six families consist of the following:

These six families, guided by the Farïnýðian Hyvam, would settle in the site of the Ïlýrhonid Tribe and left under the care of Vëtam. Hyvam himself, having caught sight of more individuals from far away during his trek, would leave again to try to guide those back to the Tribe as well. In this second voyage, he would find and defend the other six families, consisting of the following:

It is at this stage in the narrative that the Vëtam-Rëhotïŋ is inserted. Here, the six families already in the Tribe, being unable to harvest the resources around them (due to reasons not explicitly stated), would come to Vëtam for assistance. Faced with no other choice, Vëtam would systematically tear off his legs one by one to serve as a makeshift foodsource. To increase its nutritional value, he would place them on a bonfire and collect the ashes alongside the cooked meat. The smoke from this bonfire would alert both Hyvam and the Zar-Isyer-Akwor to the existence of the Ïlýrhonid Tribe.

From then on, the Vëtam-Rëhotïŋ ceases narration and Hyvam-Üðrënak returns to tell the rest of the story.

Meanwhile, Hyvam had gathered the other six families, but realized that he had lost his way during this process and could not find his way back to the Ïlýrhonid Tribe. Seeing the smoke from Vëtam's bonfire, he would successfully lead them back, all the while encountering more and more attacks from the Zar-Isyer-Akwor. The strenuous process of defending against these relentless assaults would mentally drain Hyvam, who barely returned home with a sliver of the families' populations still alive. Upon seeing Vëtam's dying corpse, this would fully break Hyvam, rendering him a crazed shell of his former self. In his broken state he would near too close to the bonfire and burst in flames, scaring the people around him.

At that time, the Zar-Isyer-Akwor would assemble in hordes around the tribe. In a furious rage, Hyvam would pick up the skullpieces (Оö) and other remaining pieces of Vëtam and use them as weapons against the horde. Overcome by their leader's actions, the rest of the populace would do so, using various tools to maim and kill as many as 300 of them, with the rest fleeing from the scene. Hyvam himself would die from the burns induced by the fire, and from his stead would emerge the role of the Hyvamto-Rhïlýrhonid, the herald of the tribe, as conferred by the two skullpieces of Hyvam. Vëtam's scattered body parts would be distributed amongst the families as a sign of their formation as the Ïlýrhonid Tribe, and later translated to be the conferrer of the Hyvamto-Žö-Ýšïb, or the Head of the Family role.
