Bašurhúd Family

The Bašurhúd, or Basurhhud Family was the 5th family to the leave the Elironid tribe (which they did in 24616 AYM). They traveled southeast by boat, and landed on the southwestern coast of the Shattered Earth, where they formed the tribe of Dumzhir. From there they engaged in a fierce conflict with the tribes of the Urristuid Family to the north (a conflict called the Urristuid-Basurhhud wars) before being forced to migrate due to an earthquake in the Erithorn Ocean. Today, the Basurhhudians are mainly concentrated in the country of Dorivna in Bluzaquin.

History

The Bašurhúd Family occupied a portion of the land in the Ïlýrhonid Tribe that was one of only two sections to include parts of the Nuzowli Mountain Range in its territory, with the other being the Ýlëntuk Family. Unlike the Ýlëntukians, whose region was 60% mountainous and rugged, the Bašurhúdians (also known as the Bašurhians) were conveniently bordered by a section of the mountain range that was much thinner and smaller in size. Specifically, at least 40% of the peaks said to be included in their territory were not full, unbroken mountains, but dotted with collapsed sections, caverns, and gorges. These formations were the jewel of their cultural system, and thought by many to be home to spiritual or ancestral beings.

The naming system of the Bašurhúdians was rooted in these caverns. Upon completion of the Ýyorhïsïb process, the newborn would be led to one of the caverns, whereupon the congregation would allow him to choose a place to sit down. The individual would then emit a series of sounds using the teeth, whereupon the echoes of the cavern would distort and mutate these sounds into what would become his name. The timing as to when he would make the sounds was also recorded as the vowels in the name.

Being only started in the Ïšlhóšïb process, his teeth would be barely used and highly unfamiliar, and many of his sounds would be different from those usually emitted by an adult pair of teeth. This would thus give greater variety on the types of names available. However, being one of if not the first instance of the baby using his teeth, this ceremony would represent the being's first words, or who he was in a profoundly pure sense.

This process was highly, highly subject to variation, including the type/location of the cavern, the place in the cavern the child sat, the timing and order of the sounds he made, and so forth. Despite this, it was often found that the interaction of sound waves from certain teeth interfered in predictable ways. Thus, Bašurhúdian names are often recognizable for having such sounds like 'B', 'G', 'K', and 'W', each of which represent the bouncing and colliding of various soundwaves against each other and against the walls of the cavern.
