Okaran

One should steer clear of magma chambers and lava tubes. For a lot more reasons than just the lava itself. One of those reasons is Okaran. These huge magma beasts leave pools of lava every where they go, as the lumber their way through the caves, clawing their way through the cavern walls in search of ore to consume. If they catch even a whiff of you, you are probably already dead just from the heat alone. The temperature range of the air in the caves where you find these creatures hovers around 200 degrees Celsius. Do not take these creatures lightly. It would be the very last mistake of your life.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They are huge hulking creatures consisting of pure magma, that lumber forward on their huge fists larger than a person's head. Their muscles of magma are huge and thick, like that of a gorilla. Their legs are short and stubby, as their back is elongated. Their neck appears to disappear in a mass of magma muscles.

Biological Traits

There are no male or female Okaran, these creatures are entirely gender neutral.

Genetics and Reproduction

Okaran, like Haiten do not reproduce in the traditional sense. Instead they consume as much raw metal ore as they can so they can divide and replicate like blood cells.

Growth Rate & Stages

Okaran Evo from Haiten.

Ecology and Habitats

They only live in caves and lava tubes around and under active volcanoes, such as Mount Hellfire, which is currently the only active volcano in the world, as far as anyone is aware. There could certainly be super volcanoes that no one can detect.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They have a drive to consume as much metal ore as they can to allow them to divide and replicate. They especially like iron or nickel ore. However they avoid Morichalcum ore as much as possible and if they detect any, they will leave the area entirely and move somewhere else. No one is sure why they do this or why they seem to have an aversion to it.

Biological Cycle

If the volcano in which they live ever goes dormant, they will either move down into magma chambers or they will turn to solid stone and go to sleep, a state in which they will remain until such time a volcano becomes active once again.

Behaviour

These beasts are fiercely territorial and extremely dangerous and should never be approached under any circumstances. Doing so could very well be the last mistake you ever make, for their very presence in an area cause the air temperature to increase to a level inhospitable to us.

Additional Information

Social Structure

They live in large colonies deep underneath volcanoes. Usually there is one larger one that is an alpha and is in charge of the entire colony.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

As there is currently only one active volcano known in the world, Mount Hellfire, that is the only place they can be found right now, as far as anyone is aware. Rest assured, if one finds a presence of Haiten and Okaran in an area, there is a high chance that there is an active volcano in the area.

Average Intelligence

They have a single minded drive to find and consume as much metal ore as possible in order to divide and replicate.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They appear to have a canny knack of finding metal ore. Whether they are able to sense the ore, no one really knows.
