Mori - The Temple District

The Temple District of Mori is a sprawling and sacred quarter of the capital, dedicated to the spiritual heart of the Moriander Faith. It is a place where divine reverence and imperial authority intertwine, symbolizing the Empire’s unyielding belief in the Code of Divine Rights. Grand spires pierce the sky, gilded domes shimmer in the sunlight, and the scent of incense and burning sanctified oils fills the air. Here, the faithful gather in droves, priests offer blessings, and pilgrims from across the Empire walk cobblestone streets seeking divine guidance, healing, boons or forgiveness.

Important Buildings

  1. The Temple of the True Flame - the center of the religion of Morianderism, its a beautiful huge structure made out of the finest marble decorated with statues and rich sculptures dominating the entire district. The interior has large high vaulted halls, richly decorated chambers and a place of worship in the center of the structure where the True Flame, an eternal fire is kept. The houses of the clergy are built around the temple grounds and the central spire is home of the High Priest of Mori.
  2. The Shrines of the Lost Gods - scattered throughout the district are smaller shrines dedicated to the Lost Gods - the gods that disappeared when the apocalyptic Scarring took place. They are worshipped only sparingly and are only maintained out of respect for history.

  3. The Garden of the Paths - a garden dedicated to the paths and an artistic representation of the many paths that can be followed via the worship of the Primordial Forces.
  4. The Pilgrim's Dormitories - these communal lodging houses provide shelter for pilgrims and visiting clergy. The rooms are humble yet clean, and meals are provided by the temple kitchens. The dormitories also serve as gathering places where travelers share stories of their journeys and miracles witnessed along the way.
