Keltrex Islands
The isles that exist today have been the makeup of Keltrex for the last 300 years after technology was developed to stabilize the land and cease erosion under the onslaught of natural disasters and void storms that had put the once singular landmass under assault for the past few centuries. A primary element of this is the underwater structures populated primarily by the Triton and Genasi with water affinity that serve as supports and key points between the other constructions maintained to hold the land under sea level together. Some of these buildings reach the shallower levels of the sea floor, though few traverse that far down outside of necessary maintenance.
Many of the smaller islands have been left tower-less, determined to be too unstable to support the weight required for what developers desire. These have become the places where agriculture outside of the vertical indoor gardens thrive, often under the care of The Ivy Syndicate in their preservation of natural spaces. A few of these islands also house some of the minor gates and are used as points of entry and exit from the isles, preferable to attempting to manage such matters within the tower heavy areas and allowing for a major industry of transportation to and from the minor islands to the major populaces.
Weather and seasons in the isles can be rather unpredictable depending on the temperament of the void. On average the climate leans toward spring tropics which makes it a rather tourist draw for those willing to spend time and venture to the few tower-less islands. However, changes come often without warning as the provocation of void stirring and shifting causes anything from sudden onset tropical storms, void storms, or temperature fluctuations bringing the temperature to the hundreds or low enough to see snowfall.
Attempting to leave the isles apart from use of gates has proven entirely futile. Research parties have been sent and found no end to the oceanic expanse beyond and no other land masses, leading to speculation of Keltrex existing in a sort of pocket of space that explains it causing the strange occurrences of the Bermuda Triangle where it seems to reside relatively. From the outside it has been discovered one may be able to enter outside of gate usage, but never safely. If one does manage to pass through into the pocket space they are likely to end up somewhere in the ocean expanse or, worse, the void.
