The Spokes

The Spokes:

In the beginning, Spokes were composed of underpaid and neglected factory workers slaving away for the corporations. They would do whatever they had to in order to live another day and to help their fellow Spokes do the same. They protect, provide, and care for each other more than all else. What began as barely organized interpersonal bolstering eventually became a workforce union to be reckoned with.   There was some moving and shaking amongst the factories, as someone with old money had taken an interest in the goings on of the Spokes and had recruited help for a takeover of the factory system, putting them in the Spokes’ hands. Now about 60% of factory functions across the isles is overseen either directly or indirectly by the Spokes. Working to ensure fair labor practices and wages for laborers everywhere while producing the highest quality products that Keltrex uses for itself and its exports.   Many spokes are trades people, working within the mechanical and engineering industries. This puts most of them at a steady middle class comfort, even if their jobs are less than glorious most days. Spokes are often tinkerers, inventors in spare time, and are not fond of discovering abuse in the workplace. Slow to violence but ready to lend a hand for the underdog.
Enemies:
The only true enemy of the Spokes is the Ivy Syndicate. Since the syndicate proves to be a thorn in their side, constantly trying to sabotage or change their operations under the banner of environmentalism. Spokes have no real issue with the Ivy Syndicate other than frustration at being on the receiving end of their ire, and thus a blossoming animosity has formed between them.
Valbella Immal — Head of the Spokes
No one really knows what first drew Valbella Immal, heiress of an old and nearly forgotten fortune, into the steel-slick underworld of the factories. She appeared one cycle with clean hands and sharper eyes, offering resources, strategy, and an unnervingly calm kind of charisma that could turn chaos into cooperation. The Spokes called her the Benefactor before they ever knew her name. Now, under her leadership, sixty percent of the factories hum to the rhythm of fair wages and worker autonomy.   Valbella moves through the smoke and circuitry like a ghost of privilege turned revolutionary. She doesn’t flaunt her wealth; she weaponizes it. Her sleek tech and command of advanced combat systems make her a formidable fighter, one who never misses, never wastes a motion, and never reveals more than she intends. To her allies, she’s a savior. To her enemies in the Ivy Syndicate, she’s a whisper in the wires, an elegant shadow rewriting the system from within.
