Moray
Moray is a Queendom in the north of Boriya, located between the coast of the Western Sea, the great northern Wildwood, and the neighbouring domains of Kingdom of Harbrath in the south and the Orden of Wrodhley in the east. Its climate is largely temperate, although the northern forests and eastern mountains experience harsh winters, and there are warmer summers in the south. It is divided into five adminstrative districts: The Queen's Country, the Duchies of Southy, Oester and Norland, and the Principality of the Iron Peaks. All of these ultimately answer to the throne, but only the Queen's Country is directly ruled by the Queen and her court, and the Principality has an unrivalled level of autonomy.
Under the Queen, three 'pillars' uphold the realm: the Court of the Queen, the Nobility of the Land and the Common Church. The remainder of the population are subjects - divided into the free and the bonded - and outlaws, who live without either society's bonds or its protections.
The Queen's authority is derived from the Hydrax dynasty's founding pact with the Antlered King and the Seven Gods of Moray. This pact also maintains the Queen's Peace, and ensures that the egalitarian society for which the Queendom is renowned persists without friction or tension.
