Introduction

The March of 31 Tales is an unofficial challenge by Demongrey. The premise is to write an article every day in the month of March, with no limits on the length of the article or what it is about. I decided to take on this challenge and use it to continue with my stubocalypse, which got rather neglected in February. Each article is probably going to be about 200 words long, and will not be very detailed, as this whole project is to make enhanced stubs so I don't have any dead links in my world. It is taking longer than anticipated, obviously. I'm really hoping that this challenge can help put a dent in the remaining thousand or so articles I have left to convert though. Lol.

Caragal

Caragal is a large city in the country of Dryst on the continent of Sarsand, famous for being one of the founding places of steam technology and the birth place of the Drystian steamstack.

Arendal

Settlement | Mar 3, 2025

Arendal is the capital city of the country of Dryst, on the continent of Sarsand. It is located about thirty miles from Dryst's southern coast, the river Wen snaking its way through its centre before emptying out into the Bay of Graves.

The Denanden Pit

Building / Landmark | Mar 3, 2025

The Denanden Pit is a coal mine located in the hills of northern Dryst, just outside the town of Denanden.

Denanden

Settlement | Mar 4, 2025

Denanden is a mining town in the northern hills of Dryst, with a population of around a hundred and fifty people. Around sixty percent of the inhabitants, both men and women, are employed by the coal mine, known as the Denanden Pit.

The Bay of Graves

Geographic Location | Mar 5, 2025

The Bay of Graves is a part of the Southern Ocean, located off the southern coast of the country of Dryst. It has a reputation of treacherous waters, of hidden rocks and unexpected shallows.

The Watcher on the Rock

The Watcher on the Rock is a lighthouse located in the Grey Waters, perched on a tiny spit of rock. The rock itself is not named, though locals usually refer to it as Watcher's Rock.

The Noemi

Ethnicity | Mar 7, 2025

The Noemi are a group of shapeshifters that live in southern Dryst, along the coastline of the Bay of Graves. They shapeshift into large predatory seals known as basking seals.

Rendan

Settlement | Mar 8, 2025

Rendan is a city in northern Dryst on the continent of Sarsand. It was one of the first cities to be connected to the railway network, alongside Caragal.

The Caragal Locomotive Factory

Building / Landmark | Mar 9, 2025

The Caragal Locomotive Factory is located in Caragal in the country of Dryst, a large complex of buildings in the western, more industrial part of the city. It is part factory, part museum, and is heralded as the birthplace of the steam locomotive.

Caragal Station

Building / Landmark | Mar 10, 2025

A marvel of steel, glass, and brick, Caragal Station is the most distinctive building constructed in the city of Caragal in the last decade. It was the first railway station to be completed in Dryst.

The Drystian Railway Network

The Drystian railway network is in its infancy, currently having only one completed railway line between the cities of Caragal and Rendan.

Vos Aren

Settlement | Mar 12, 2025

Vos Aren is the capital city of Moragul on the continent of Sarsand - or, at least, it was until about six months ago, when Mount Vatra erupted.

Ahebran

Ahebran is a rich country in southern Viretia. Around ninety percent of the country is made up of sandy desert.

The Abrites

The Abrites are the human majority of the country of Ahebran on the continent of Viretia.

Fluvansii

Fluvansii is the country that makes up the southern part of the continent of Viretia. Due to impassable reefs and rough terrain, it has developed in relative isolation compared to the rest of Etrea.

Roshan

Roshan is a country in central Viretia. Its south is covered in sandy desert, and boasts some of the hottest temperatures on the planet.

The Roshani

One of the oldest mixed ethnicities on the planet, the Roshani have been a cohesive culture for over two thousand years.

Senairi

Senairi is a country on the continent of Viretia. Whilst much of the country is covered in grassland, it is also home to the hottest and driest desert on the planet.

The Sensha

The Sensha are the human majority of the country of Senairi on the continent of Viretia. They are tenacious people who live in defiance of nature.

The Yaltun Meiga

The Yaltun Meiga - translated as the Rose Vault - is the royal palace of the country of Roshan.

Nanse

Settlement | Mar 21, 2025

Nanse is the capital city of Roshan on the continent of Viretia. It is one of the most populated cities in the country.

Adamna Palace

Building / Landmark | Mar 22, 2025

Adamna Palace is located in the city of Adamna, the capital of Senairi on the continent of Viretia. The palace is an eclectic mixture of elaborate architecture, as it is frequently damaged by tornadoes.

Adamna

Settlement | Mar 23, 2025

The sprawling settlement of Adamna is located in the grasslands of Senairi. It is the capital city of the country, and home to the beautiful Adamna Palace.

Aeth

Settlement | Nov 30, 2025

Aeth is the capital city of the Aestra, an ethnicity of polar merfolk. It is located off the coast of the Barren, the landmass that encompasses Etrea's southern pole.

The Imperial Polar Station

Building / Landmark | Mar 25, 2025

Located several miles inland from the Barren's coastline, the Imperial Polar Staion is funded by the Royal Arcanum in Kaien.

Egg Island

Generic article | Mar 26, 2025

Egg Island is a small island of ice and rock, located about a mile off the coast from the Barren. It gets its name from its roughly ovoid shape.

The Aurora Observatory

The Aurora Observatory was established on Egg Island, a small island off the coast of the Barren. It is owned by the Golden Telescope Guild, a Drystian group of astrologers.

The Viridian Hollows

On the outskirts of Oglana, a settlement of the Ikaspi merfolk off the coast of the Barren, there lies a small, closely-guarded series of viridescenite caverns known as the Viridian Hollows.

Dappled Vutter

Species | Mar 30, 2025

The dappled vutter, also known as a shriekspider, is native to the Black Forest in southern Serukis. They are not actually spiders, but a small mammal that has evolved eight limbs.

Oglana

Settlement | Mar 30, 2025

Oglana is an Ikaspi underwater settlement off the coast of the Barren, closest to the sacred site known as the Viridian Hollows.

The Oglana Vault

Building / Landmark | Mar 31, 2025

The Oglana Vault is one of the older buildings in the city of Oglana, constructed to contain the Ikaspi merfolk's precious supply of viridescenite.
