The Noemi

Shifters of the Bay of Graves

This article is a stub. Please comment if you would like it to become a priority for expansion.
The Noemi are a group of shapeshifters that live in southern Dryst, along the coastline of the Bay of Graves. They shapeshift into large predatory seals known as basking seals. Like their wild counterparts, their diet consists mostly of meat and fish.   Historically, there were five main Noemi towns scattered along the several hundred mile stretch of coastline, as well as numerous small fishing villages. Today, the majority of settlements - especially the larger towns - along the Bay of Graves are integrated, meaning both humans and shapeshifters live in them, but some of the smaller villages remain Noemi only. The Noemi traditionally bury their dead at sea.

First a lighthouse, and then a kind of Selkie :) I'm feeling very at home in this corner of your world!   I would love to know more about the Noemi!

Do you know the earthly meaning of the name Noemi? It means "pleasantness, sweetness, beauty, kindness, delight." I imagine these people are a friendly bunch. I hope we learn more about them.
