The legend of Za
The Family of Rishi; the first of the Za' line, were forced from their homes by the giant bellow frogs that had magically mutated.
In need of a new home they built several small vessels and set sail towards the islands to the west.
It was rumored by those of the coast that there was a population of people highly adept at magic and travel, a group of people who were known for venturing far across multiple realms establishing small pockets of home wherever they went.
Rishi sought out the Manaleyaians and he and his family were given sanctuary.
Rishi sought out knowledge like it was food, his dream creating a hunger in him that grew only more and more ravenous.
He studied ship craft, building, open water sailing, and any practical craft he could get access to.
He also studied culture, history, magic, science, and religion.
It was during the meditation in the branches of the great tree he was visited by Chiongbian-Calambaza.
A denizen of fire who fell in love with the mortal, Rosa; he burned the trees off of the mountain tops until his father consented to their marriage; he afterwards visited Rosa, but forgetting to remove his powers over fire, he accidentally burned Rosa's whole village until nothing but hot springs remained.
Chiongbian-Calambaza saw that Rishi was motivated by a love for his family his people and Esparea herself.
Chiongbian-Calambaza gave Rishis and all who had come from him and all who would come from him the gift of "produce flame" as well as the title of Za so that all who knew of them would know they were champions of Chiongbian-Calambaza
