Kingdom of Oosugon

It is believed that the people of Oosugon were once members of the Manaleyaian tribes; that continued to travel after they landed in Esparea. The similarities in, physical appearance and spiritual practice and belief are further evidence to support this claim. While most would not have been skilled enough to reach Oosugon by sea the wayfarers of the Manaleyaian would be more than capable of such a journey. Both cultures celebrate the spirits known as Lao Ki and build many shrines to many different spirits as opposed to the larger scale places of congregation found throughout Esparea. They honor magic and those who use it, and hold a deep respect for the natural world in which they live.   The people of Oosugon are thoughtful and measured in temperament, well learned and quite adept at making and maintaining relationships with other kingdoms. A Trade staple to Rival the Kesh'mhett capitol. Modesty and hard work are staples of this kingdom. The royals of Oosugon taking personal care to see that each of its rural communities has all of the resources required to be successful. This reduces strain on the overall system as it grows a sense of respect and responsibility within its people.   The people have lived in strong family clans for centuries. Each family has a specialty and their skills are expanded upon by marrying members of other family clans. helping to increase the spread of a family.

      Architecture to cope with frequent natural disasters and the destruction due to wars and fighting, the builders in Oosugon adopted a bracket system. This system made rebuilding and modifying the buildings much more efficient. The Oosugonian's made their wooden buildings slightly flexible to withstand earthquakes, typhoons and other disasters and for easier repair and reconfiguration as the need arose. They used wooden posts, horizontal beams, and lintels for supporting weight above the doorways, and wooden brackets that they positioned on top of the posts. The columns and bracketed beams held up the wooden roof framework. From ancient times, builders considered it important to cover buildings with overhanging roofs. This was to protect the building from weathering. The wide eaves also provided shade in the summer, and in the winter, the slanted sunlight warmed the buildings On large traditional buildings, the eaves might overhang the walls by several meters This style gives the buildings in the kingdom a pagoda like style seen nowhere else in Esparea. These Wooden buildings are not tall but instead sprawling. Often centered on a large central building and flanked by matching wings creating enclosed courtyards. several families will live together in a single compound. Being the only kingdom with trading relations with Knurlanheim stone is also a popular feature in Oosugon. bridges and streets are all capped with ornate stone and stone sculptures of the Lao Ki pepper the environment.
