First Species in Astnyr

When Knowler finished exploring Astnyr, ten years after he arrived, he created the elves along with two Angels. elves were humanoids that were heavily connected to nature and its needs. They could help civilization without damaging the nature in the realm. In fact, other animal species are now regulated so they don't overpopulate the land to threaten humanity.   There were two types of the long-lived race. Life Elves and Grave Elves. The difference in culture never separated where they settled, but one values life and the other heavily respects death. Elves mostly went to the Light Paladin and druidic disciplines.

The First Light Paladins and Healing Clerics

Before Beight set off on her building expedition, many elves volunteered to protect her on her journey. She trained these volunteers in the art of Holy Magic, which attacks and aids. The elves chose their specialties as tanks and healers. The first Light Paladin was Alric Stormarrow, and the first Healing Cleric was Lora Woodbow. These two led and taught the recruits as best as they could before they retired.

The First Druid

Korthas Silvermoon was the first druid that trained under Nave. He later became Archdruid, the first Nave appointed. Nave was the first ruler who appointed a second in command in Astnyr, trusting her Archdruids with all of her being.   Korthas was a Life Druid before he became Archdruid. Beast Druids didn't exist before this. However, times changed, and Beast Druids became a necessity. Korthas taught the Life Druid recruits, while Nave taught the Beast Druid recruits. They were all primarily Elven until the Humans migrated to Astnyr.

Ethnicities

Life Elves were those who valued life more than death. They believed they used their long lives to help those in need and protect nature. Their high values of protection and life were the main reasons they joined the military. Even if they died in battle, there was much worth protecting. These elves saw life as healing the unfortunate and sick. Which was why many also turned to Healing Clerics and Life Druids. Life had so much to offer, and even though they were long-lived, Life Elves saw this the most.   Grave Elves were different, but had no shortage of valuing life. However, they saw more of a life lived fully, and death being the result. These elves respected the dead, being the bulk of grave keepers in Astnyr. They did memorial rites, letting the dead's ashes become a part of nature. Those who died became trees that were never cut down. However, when Morana betrayed Astnyr with Death Magic, the graveyards didn't have enough land to accommodate the dead. With Astnyr still so young, there wasn't any plan for mass death counts. So instead, the Grave Elves found ashes could still become a part of nature by dispersing them to the wind. They would do what it took to look after their dead, even in these trying times.

Physical Traits

Elves had smooth, muscular bodies as they could handle hard labour and magic. Pointed ears, thin eyebrows, and long eyelashes all signal their Elven nature. The colors of their hair can be red, blonde, white, blue, and black. Eyes can be lavender, blue, gold, and brown. Their skin stays fair and they cannot have any other skin color. Elves are one of the longest-living races of Astnyr.

Naming Traditions

Many male names end with -as or -ric, but some differentiated. Female names like -ia or -a share the same characteristic. Many elves had last names that connected with natural sources, such as Silverwind or Moongold.
