Aeftir, World of the Afterlife

Angels originated from the world of the afterlife. Both Angels and Demons had past lives, with souls worthy of becoming deities. Angels, in particular, gained the power of light and magic from their past lives. Their souls forever immortalized, living their second lives as Angels.   In worlds where Angels and Demons appeared, mortals theorized these beings were a mix between reincarnation and a concept of heaven. Most worlds didn't even know of the existence of Aeftir until a mortal died. Based on how they lived their life, they were assigned a role in Aeftir between the two sides. Luckily, there were more Angels than Demons, humanity never abandoned their virtues.  

Angel Priests

Angelic priests repaired damage from natural disasters, governments, and oppressive races in other worlds. They were a governing force in these worlds. The Father of all Angels sent each priest to their mission. Those that specialized in Creation magic were assigned as priests during their training. Not all angels knew creation magic, specializing in other aspects of Aeftir. However, priests were the most important role angels could gain. This was because of how they could create other angels in worlds they were assigned in. Those newly created angels would help in the priest's work, as well as possibly ruling alongside them. There were two known cases of this. The first world was Notta, where it ended in catastrophic failure. The other was Astnyr, where the people still flourish, but there was something nefarious in the land.   Other lands and worlds failed, or were used only for research purposes. The Father of all Angels didn't know how to improve methods of preserving worlds from Demon influence. He blamed them for the priest's hubris. To him, there was no other way that his priests could fail in rehabilitating and saving these worlds. However, research from the other priests was going well. That was one bit of good news the father could get.  

Angel Biology

Angels were born from creation magic. In Aeftir it was by the father of all angels. In worlds such as Notta and Eldabrand, angelic priests were the ones who made angels from magic. Creation magic had a physical and mental correlation with the new angel's past life. These factors could differ from each other. The physical concentrated on the sex the angel's past life was born with. Mental took information of what the angel used to think of themselves. An example was when Justlight created Winter. Winter physical traits was of the male sex, but their mental state was that of a nonbinary being in their past life. Creation magic was in the arsenal of most angels.   However, there were some that had no magic or very little magic in their creation and being. An example was in angel in Notta named Wardom. She was the angel of war and domination, but she had no creation magic nor an animal form. She depended on other angels and her trusty mount to travel around Notta, where she and her war unit were needed. However, this weakness only made her physically stronger than other angels. In fact, these attributes in angelic creation only made angels more human to other races, which was a good outcome.  

Ethnicities

Lunarius and Morana were created with no magical potential. An accident in the creation magic process could cause this, but it was not a weakness in the angel. This created a new type of angel no one had ever seen before. These angels were called, Mangels. The 'M' of the name represented these angels were without magic. This included those with some magic, but was weak in it, like Wardom. However, others never treated mangels differently from other angels. Lunarius made a name for himself as a researcher. Morana learned the art of druidic magic and alchemy from Nave and Humans. This was not a singular case just in Astnyr. It was an ethnicity in Aeftir as well. The Father of all angels never discriminated against mangels, but let them choose their own purpose in this life.  

Most Notable Angel

The most successful angel in the Priests Knowler. He created the civilization in Astnyr and still ruled it. However, Knowler wasn't always the ruler of Astnyr. He and his brother, Lunar solved Notta's problems during the World War. Lunar was the older of the two, Knowler always following where he went. They were deployed to Notta together, and they improved the world of eternal night.   However, Knowler became dissatisfied and wanted to go on his own mission. Lunar gave his brother his blessings as he traveled to a world far from Notta. The first angel ever to step foot into Eldabrand landed, which was in the region, Astnyr. He created angels to help him build a civilization in the region. Astnyr became the land of magic and was peaceful for a time. Astnyr went through some hardships, but Knowler always guides his people to survive them.  

Naming Traditions

The ones that made the new creation gave them names. The powers determined their names. Some angels, the mangels, did not have powers when they were created, so the new angel would name themselves.
