The Elegant Gate
The entrance to the Jade Gardens
The Elegant Gate is a religion that is truthful to itself and its tomes of lore through many centuries. No one can say for sure when The Elegant Gate first had its inception and began having followers but rumour has it that it is one of the few first widespread religions in Eastrix. It is known, however, that it found its most influential progress in year zero, as a reaction to The Spellplague. The Elegant Gate explains The Spellplague as the death of their previously singular god known as Hitotsu, the full name being Hitotsu No Kami which can be translated from one of the many Hibatan dialects to common as "The One God". The Elegant Gate has always been one of, if not the, biggest religions within the entirety of Eastrix and has always had an influential role in the global history of Eastrix. The Talaran Empire always had the magical power of Arcanum that they could from thin air, the Sorashanan Quori utilized the essence of the world known as the Primordial Powers to have natures wrath and guidance with, but the Manourian empires of Hibata and Tenochilaria all prayed to the gods and gain favour in the form of divinium.
The Elegant Gate has always been radical in its teachings, demanding the utmost respect and dignity from its followers. This uptight devotion was only further sacralized and embedded into the core beliefs of the religion after the Spellplague. With the death of Hitotsu No Kami or simply Hitotsu, supposedly it destroyed all magic briefly. Hitotsu decided to bless the world one last time, by scattering his ashes thereby creating more gods, holy creatures and passing the ability of magic on to humanity. These pieces of him that created gods would roam the earth and protect it in his stead. That's why many followers of The Elegant Gate are cautious and make sure to show their gods their devotion, since who knows when one might be visited by a god.
The new gods of The Elegant Gate are only known as Vestiges instead of directly gods. They alike Hitotsu jointly keep the gate to the afterlife open just as Hitotsu once did himself. They protect the material realm from intruders from other realms and dangers that may lurk in the shadows. Their job is to handle the world, whilst not shaping it to their content. There are a total of 7 Vestiges, these vestiges are:
