Occiman Republic
The Occiman Republic is a parliamentary republic in the Occima region of Jideran, dominated by social liberals . Previously part of the Republic of Kaisa, the Delchi Peace Conference that ended the Last War included a mandate that Kaisa release the Occiman State as an independent nation, under the control of the Occiman Nationalist Party.
Backed by the Imperial Jiderani Union (IJU), the echelarist wing of the party was set to take power, but Sovina Kopert, a communist member of the party, assassinated the head of the echelarist wing, Andri Evristia. The party split in two, and the communists and social liberals declared an independent republic from Gemani, a stronghold of the workers movement.
Presently, the new republic is in a fragile place. The Occiman Republic controls the more populous and industrialized portion of Occima, but the Occiman State is backed by the IJU. Many expect that they will soon invade to regain control over the entire region, and the republic can hardly expect support from their other neighbor, Kaisa. Within their borders, groups of communist workers, many aligned with the SEK but plenty entirely independent, have begun seizing and collectivizing property, calling for a social revolution.
