Liberal Socialism
Liberal socialism, also called social liberalism, is a political ideology that advocates for a state capitalist mixed economy, where the means of production are split between private ownership and nationalization to varying degrees. Social liberals generally call for participatory and democratic political systems. Social liberals within republican states are often reformists, utilizing elections and established political systems to move towards their goals. However, liberal socialists in monarchies and other non-participatory states are often revolutionaries by necessity.
Liberal socialism as a movement arose in the early 1300s. It draws inspiration from communist political and economic analysis, particularly that of Robierre Clement, as well as from certain radical liberal thinkers of the Age of Idealism.
