Battle of Kriegbäven

The Battle of Kriegbäven was a crucial battle during the Last War, taking place in and around the city of Kriegbäven, Hellissandur.   The battle came at the end of the long Halaran campaign to subdue Hellissandur, after the latter nation began an embargo of Halaran vessels traveling between Teshoya and Jideran. Halaran forces had been slowly pushing across the Iron Lands, but their supply chain was beginning to break down. With the Halaran hold over the Tuksuhakmyon slipping, their allies in the Rising Powers Pact feared that they would be split off from Halaran resources.   The Hallowed Lands coordinated with Halar to launch an attack on Kriegbäven, the Hellissandric capital, hoping to force the smaller country to capitulate. At first, the assault seemed successful. The attackers caputred most of the city in the opening days of the battle, and the All-Hel and his first heir, Stine and Øystein Fiskandl respectively, were killed. However, the Hellissandric defenders were able to repel the attack, with assistance from the Republic of Kaisa.   After the battle, the mountain clans of Hellissandur joined the war in full, and soon after, Hellissandur was able to negotiate a white peace with Halar.
