Veil-Born begin to flood from the center of Ridbha, slaughtering everyone in their path. At first, the states of Ridbha manage to contain the threat, but eventually, they are overwhelmed. Hundreds of millions flee the continent during the Flight of Sorrow, and hundreds of millions more are killed by the celestial horrors.
By 1050, most of the Ridbhan states had given up on containing the Veil-Born, instead attempting to slow their advance long enough to allow their people to escape or find a solution. Waves of refugees begin to flee the continent, eventually amounting to hundreds of millions of people.
The Flight of Sorrow and its influx of refugees into the Tteokseo-Akmyon causes instability across the region, particularly within the Kingdom of Yeuweomaet. Tens of millions of people with different cultures and with no allegiance to the state all settling within the region over the course of just a few decades proves too much for the kingdom to handle. In fits and starts, the territory of Yeuweomaet shrinks over the following centuries. Eventually, they control only Eulong Island.
In 1307, the Tetrukakloça League establishes the first legation enlave through a treaty with the city of Kaelyuk. Within the enclave, members of the League receive extraterritoriality and exclusive economic rights. As more enclaves and outposts are established across the archipelago, they form the League Economic Territories.
Riots break out across the Yeuweomaet legation enclaves, after a League marine kills an Angsari teenager. The rioters besiege the enclave, burn foreign businesses, and attack foreigners. When local authorities are unable to quell the riots, a League force arrives and brutally puts down the uprising.
In 1339, the disjointed partisans and rebels fighting against the Tetrukakloça League begin to unify into what becomes known as the Byeo-Jeon movement. The Byeo-Jeon wage war against the Tetrukakloça League, which becomes Halar in 1341, eventually achieving victory in 1348.
