Arista Galanos
Arista Galanos, a syntagmatarchis in the Kaisan army, fought in the southern front of the Last War. She led a special operations expeditionary corps that was sent to southern Jideran to build a relationship with the Määhe and assist them in fighting their common enemy, Drizhni. She and her troops saw firsthand the ongoing genocide of the Määhe at the hands of Drizhni, a state that had been materially supported by Kaisa until they joined the war on the side of the Rising Powers. She came to feel that her mission with the Määhe was opportunistic and manipulative. Regardless of the poor motivation, she felt the cause was just, and she devoted herself to training the Määhe rebels and assisting in their struggle.
In 1348, as it became clear that the Humanist League was losing the war, she and her unit were ordered to return to Kaisa to join the North Jideran Front. Galanos responded with her resignation and continued to fight with the Määhe, along with around two-thirds of her unit. They branded themselves the Kocak Battalion, after a legendary Kaisan folk hero. Galanos has made contact with the SEK-ESK in Kaisa through Drizhni anarchists and has begun exchanging correspondence as often as she is able. As the Daffodil Revolution begins in Kaisa, her unit has begun the journey home. Galanos has expressed hope that, should the revolution prevail, the Määhe will receive significant support from Kaisa.
Appearance
Arista Galanos is a woman of average height, with a stocky build and a face as delicate as a brick. While in Drizhni, she has taken to wearing Määhe clothing styles, designed for the harsh conditions of the remote wilds of the south, and while she has begun wearing her Kaisan uniform upon her return, she has stripped it of all rank insignia.
