Stones of Zyntrani (zin-trahn-ee)

The Stones of Zyntrani are one of three surviving sets of stones dedicated to a god of the Light Pantheon. Scholars and historians believe there were once stones for each of the gods in this pantheon (minus the members of The Four), but many are believed to have been destroyed or hidden during the time of The Smiting. Archaeologists are constantly following leads and looking for more Stones around the world.   These stones are dedicated to The Weaver of Ideas, known as the patron of mages and craftsmen. Many aspiring inventors or mages make the trek here hoping to be blessed with inspiration or masterful skills. Very few come away with such boons, but that has not stopped many hundreds from making the trip each year. Other visitors are mages or craftsmen who simply come to pay respects and make a pilgrimage to the stones, as a holy relic of their patron deity. Regardless, these standing stones are the easiest to reach of the three known ones; there is no harsh desert or tundra to deal with, and violent raiders or beasts are extremely rare.   The main way to reach the stones is from Gullthorpe, taking a path off the main trade road headed toward Plainsview. About a day's travel from Gullthorpe's walls will see most people reach the stones, where many impromptu tent towns are erected. The camaraderie found in these tent areas are blessing enough for some who make the trek, and frequent pilgrims look forward to seeing their friends and meeting new people each time.   The actual ritual one needs to perform at the stones is unknown, and accounts from successful pilgrims detail disparate approaches. One would-be mage who visited the stones in 349 2A, reported fasting for three days inside the stones, laying prostrate the entire time and praying to Zyntrani for a divine gift. Another aspiring mage who recorded a visit in 1203 2A, walked into the circle and demonstrated a bit of arcane magic they had been able to learn, pleading with Zyntrani for more knowledge; a voice spoke inside her head and granted her the arcane knowledge she sought. A would-be inventor from Kort recorded his process of actually making a small trinket from scratch inside the circle, proving to Zyntrani that he had basic skills and an eye for beauty. Regardless of individual approach, the pilgrims who congregate here are accepting of whatever the other travelers wish to try in their efforts to gain Zyntrani's favor.
