Kayalith's Toes (kye-uh-lith)
These small, rocky mountains lie on the western side of the continent of Dalkaria. They connect to the island's larger mountain range, the Punchbowls, on their eastern edge. To the north of Kayalith's Toes is the vast tundra that is home to the Demesne of Ice, and on the southern border is the Forbidden Forest.
The mountain range does not have much vegetation, and therefore animal life is also scarce. There are no civilized settlements in the mountains, though roving peoples do occasionally make it out of the mountains and into the tundra below. Most denizens of the Toes are large birds that can fly great distances to hunt and forage - as well as at least one dragon that has been seen around the mountain range for several centuries.
