Lake Syber (sye-bur)

Lake Syber is located smack in the center of the island of Dalkaria, surrounded on almost all sides by the Punchbowl Mountains which feed the lake and keep its levels high. The only non-mountainous portion is to the north, where two towns have slowly grown over time to harvest the bounties of this lake. Asmundskiir was the first town settled on the lakefront, with Lakewatch founded much later. Though these two towns are essentially connected in an extended suburb/exurb situation, they still have some good-natured rivalry on the waves of the Syber, with fishermen taunting each other over their catches and ships jockeying for the best fishing spots.   The rivalry and competition on Lake Syber does not rise to the animosity of, say Lake Sildar in west-central Ayndrinor, but ships have recently begun hiring guards and mercenaries to make sure nothing happens. The early days of Lakewatch saw much more aggressive confrontation, as upstart fishers competed to best the old salts from Asmundskiir - but that has faded with time as the towns have grown closer.
