House von Habbingen
This house has a deep connection to the land and peasantry due to the agricultural focus of their fiefdoms. It's current leader is duke Jules von Habbingen whose ancestors lead back to the old central middlandian tribe that founded the Holy Empire of Middland.
The fiefdoms the von Habbingens rule over are often referred to as the breadbasket of the realm, due to their rich and bountiful harvests.
Culture
Other than most central middlandian families the Von Habbingen assimilated with the local population and created a hybrid culture between the western and central people. It's not unheard of members of this family to work the fields themselves. This is often the case during longer peace periods or after a prolonged war when huge numbers of peasants died fighting for their lords.
Assets
Their fiefdoms are blessed by flat ground and rich soil. Making not only their harvests the post plentiful, but also their cavalry one of the most skilled in the empire.
History
Schwabhausen Rebellion
When the rebellion broke out, Jules von Habbingen decreed that no merchant is to trade with the House Schwabhausen or their allies and vassals, making Aschstadt and Venecian Merchant Council their primary trade partners. When Jean Lestrade, entered the war against the merchant council and decisively defeated the De la Roche, the trade route to Venecia was severely disrupted, causing further decrease in income and the rotting of tons of grain. At the same time, his coastal provinces were raided not by the invading north men, but by never seen before creatures. The minotaur-like P'echtra terrorized several fishing villages and trade ports preventing trade by ship. Additionally, a lot of orc tribes, driven south by the north men invasion set up camp north of Habbing and raided rural villages and stealing grain supplies. Being short on men, Jules von Habbingen decided to hire the P'echtra as mercenaries to fight the orcs. The new chieftain Uzhul Huffresser, marched his minotaur party accompanied by the dukes troops against the raiding orc's camp leading to Battle at Lac Bleu.Champs de Fortune, Traits de Resilience
