Battle at Lac Bleu

The battle was fought at lac bleu between the orc raiding party that terrorized the duchy of House von Habbingen for several weeks and Jules von Habbingen's troops reinforced by the P'echtra mercenaries under chieftain Uzhul Huffresser.

The Conflict

Deployment

Jules von Habbingen deployed his troops just outside firing range of the camps towers. The line infantry lead by the half-orc Guy Cygne on the left flank. A regiment of conscripts was positioned in the center between the line infantry and the P'echtra mercenaries positioned on the right flank. The cavalry personally lead by duke Jules von Habbingen was further back and to the right flank.   The orc skullcrushers where flanked to the left and right by the waker orc raiders.

Battlefield

The battlefield was the flat terrain so typical to the duchies rural areas. With lac bleu situated on the far right of the battlefield.

The Engagement

The P'echtra initiated the battle by charging towards the enemy line like wild animals under the protection of bolt salvos shot by the line infantry. Jules von Habbingen lead the cavalry to the right, reading himself to charge the orcs from the flank.   Enraged by the fire from the line infantry the orc raiding party charged forward, determined to kill those who dared to shoot at them. While the beastmen engaged in melee with the orc skullcrushers to their right and the orc raiders of the right flank to their front, the line infantry braced for the impact with the charging orcs from the left flank, whilst the conscripts attacked the orcs from the right.   Jules von Habbingen charged his cavalry again and gain into the right flank of the orcs, crushing them between them and the P'echtras great axes, decimating them. When the mercenaries started to drop they went into a frenzy and started to lash out at everything around them, cutting down the last remaining orcs on the right flank with brutal efficiency, creating some breathing room for the cavalry that started to take casualties in the prolonged melee.   Further south on the battlefield, the orc raiders switched their focus on the conscripts, dropping them fast. But despite high casualties they displayed the resilience the people of the west are known for. They even caused the orcs a lot of casualties and making it possible for the infantry men under Guy Cygne to flank the orcs. Impressing even Jules von Habbingen who rewarded the remaining conscripts after the battle for their courage in the face of death.   After the orcs from the left flank were killed of, the conscripts and line infantry marched north to encircle the remaining skullcrushers who capitulated and were taken prisoners and handed over to the P'echtra as part of the mercenary contract that allowed them to do with the prisoners as they see fit.
