I believe this year's SC went extremely well. Was I aiming for 40 prompts completed? No. Did I think I'd go to DIAMOND? No. Could I have done more if given more time? Of course. But I am not really competitive. I will say I was surprised I wrote 33 articles. Most did not come easily.
I also had one light bulb moment when I did a prompt (The Kendrick Livery Stables and Blacksmith). And that was to do more buildings in Clermont Ridge as there several known ones. I can also do more residents as there are some from my former first chapter I did that got changed into my first current chapter.
I am proud of what I wrote, glad I could write, and happy it all led to me being able to do another diamond year. Although maybe I will have better standards next year because I caved on a few occasions. And might private some articles in October.
I have long self-diagnosed myself as Au-DHD!! And since I have self-diagnosed as Au-DHD, maybe everything makes sense. Except me knee. Not sure why it is not cooperating. Did I injure it? Maybe. Because it was fine on Christmas Day. But a day after almost made me go to the ED. And has started given me more trouble in the past week.
On a real world personal note, I am a lover of horses and horseback riding.
Five to seven years ago, I got into riding. I have true cowboy cousins that I apparently adore (realized this after a dear cousin died a few years ago) and would like to go riding with them.
I recently have been practicing how to post while trotting. A skill not easily learned but learning to change. And my riding has gone well, both in general and with trotting.
I am a child and cowboy at heart.
Ten Articles From Anvilites
WARNING: ADULT LANGUAGE and WARNING: DEATH and GRIEF
I use two adult words once each. This is your only caution warning.
Great article! It is written by Nulcheck in their world, Legends of of the Dragonguard. It is a great article even though it is not true.
Myth, in this case, is an idea or belief that is known by many far and wide but is false. This myth in the article was that this tea would cause total or partial crystallization in humans or humanoid beings due to its' origin. It is in this case that myth equals a rumor. Rumors of places, people, races, items may be factually inaccurate. Rumors, once spread, can be hurtful. Therefore, it is best to have the forethought to not spread them. But not everyone listens.
I think Nulcheck was trying to say this exactly. After all, rumors can foster distrust and be detrimental to locations, businesses, or people. It can also cause health issues in people as well.
This great article is all about a rare group of people (called Eldritch) embodying something that they are deemed worthy to embody. When a new Eldritch is born, there is a fundamental change in the world.
I just thought it was cool to have mortal beings change into embodiments and being immortal. Not gods who are embodiments without having fought or worked for it.
High Albion is a world created by Demongrey. I came across this article and it reminded me of my own trains article (and my love of trains). Now my trains were not involved in a court battle or a World War and are not powered the same way. But I love the history of trains in general and the difference between Trains and Trains and trains in High Albion.
Ashenhold, by Jester%, is a really interesting article as the different towns in the same spot were all destroyed. And the current town is still experiencing destruction. It is kind of funny to me that people wish to rebuild each time instead of getting the area blessed first. But while the destruction has come each time, no living beings have been harmed. Yet.
Ashenhold is certainly not a tourist town. Nor would people want to go there. Maybe if it is blessed the next time buildings crumble but I wouldn't chance it!
Jester%, it is named Ashenford twice in the history part. So, now I ask. Is it Ashenford or Ashenhold?
ECCBOOKS, also known as one of our people named Chris, always does wonderful worldbuilding. But the reason this article stood out to me is that I read it and noticed that it needed something. So, I brought it to his attention. And if you didn't know, ECC has crude humor that does show up in his articles and in real life. I'm used to his personality and crude humor But not everyone is. And not all share crude humor. My crude humor hasn't come through my worldbuilding even though I have it.
All that to say, his humor can get dark and offensive. As his odor section states "The scent of the person, place, or thing you miss more than anyone, anything, or anyplace else". This is what made me comment. Chris, I sorry my English made no sense. I should've been clearer.
Now, ECC did do a content warning but I am glad it was me who brought it up and not someone who is currently going through a loss.
Because, if this article came out eight-ten years ago, I would have been an asshole (probably justified but still). And if you didn't know why, it is because I lost a friend/big brother/hero. After losing both grandfathers (and recently one grandmother), it was that death which shattered my heart. A word of caution before I get off my soap box. Some people who grieve do not have the bs meter adjusted for grief which is why some tend to be very blunt and may seem a bit rude.
One of the most awesomest ever, our friend Strixx created a new world and did a "prompt chomp". Strixx and her fellow Anvilities on TWITCH made a helpful guide for those participating in SC 2025. And it is holly helpful as Saint Nicholas delivers. Strixx did this to help anyone and everyone succeed AKA get unstuck from our blockage.
And I am so glad someone finally did this! Because we all need help. And to say you don't is a lie. Every being, humanoid or animal, could use some help. Prompts can be tough. Prompts can be what gets you stuck. This guide for all four prompt groupings can be that shiny nose guiding your way. It is a resource. USE IT!
I really enjoyed this article by Evendawn in their world Wyral as it is an organization that helps people but they also balance good and evil in the world itself, or least try to. It is a lot to read so be aware.
I will say I read about a half of the article because I stopped due to the flow of the words diverging. I feel like the article is split between the organization and things about the members. Everdawn is a terrific person, I'm sure but just a heads up to you dear child.
In the world of Evermyst created by Craftydm (Real Name: Christopher J. Burson), there is one myth that may have become true. I jumped for joy at both the lovely writing and the two pictures (even if both are done through AI). I enjoyed the story of the myth and the possible evidence of it being true. I also love the balance with evidence disproving the myth being true.
In fact, this article reminds me of my myth (Fae Legend of The Great Healer) which is true but the truth is unknown to the side who made it until later.
In Siobhan's World of Corrigenda and the real world, adoptive parents and stepparents are real parents (although certain exceptions may apply). However, I will say these relationships have to happen naturally and are NOT immediate. All relationships take work. But especially so for these types of familial relationships.
Now that I am done with that, this article about a character who is a mother was written well. Like very thought out. And this mother does motherly things (healing, caring for others, teaching). I enjoyed this character's information and being reminded (as we all need to) that a parent is a parent no matter if their kids are adopted or are part of a marriage package deal.
This all-around amazing and interesting article written by AmazingChi for their world of Axora has brought to life an abnormal idea for dwarves if we were talking about the classic version. However, this article says there is more to them in this world than just mining and smithing. And it is interesting to note there are more scholars out there but the highest are called Scholar of the Scholar's Guild.
Worldbuilding Goals until January
I don't have a lot of goals. Just two.
The first is introducing more businesses into Clermont Ridge. Why I haven't is also a mystery to me. Maybe I forgot I had originally more businesses (in the prequel story before the actual story-see at the beginning).
And that second one is to figure out past articles that feel like they need more information (basically detailed too little for the article needs).
A real life goal is to get into dating. I think it is time. I think it is time I find somebody who loves me despite all my imperfections and my broken heart and trauma.
I haven't honestly thought about goals. An overarching goal is to finish this world (least with articles) and really work on my other world. This will mean that all the crap I don't need will go away.

Not sure how I forgot to reply. Anyway, it is finished. And we made it through another summer. And we are better builders for it! Now best be off! Good day! Blessed be! And the gods be with us until we meet again!
Thanks for including the Albion Railway! I'm glad you liked it!
I can't answer your question about Ashenhold though - that article is by the wonderful Jester%, not me. :)
Happy Summer!
Congrats on achieving diamond! Thank you for including my quickly written myth article in your list :)
I also love horseback riding; it's been quite a long time since I last did it, but the past couple of times I have, I've enjoyed it!

About to go into "class" AKA watch the Primer MASTERCLASS but saw this and wanted to say how much I appreciate you commenting. Wasn't sure if you saw that I included one of your articles.
Thanks for the congrats! Got diamond last year and forgot I did. Wasn't even aiming for it this year.
Thanks for including my article here and for the kind words, but most especially for the constructive criticism. It's so important for us as writers to listen to feedback and then do something about it if we can.

Welcome! And I agree with that which is why I am glad I caught that because I know you would want to be safe and also be told if it has the potential to be offensive. Did you think about being offensive? No. And I know you would never offend on purpose. And you didn't include a warning initially. Probably didn't even think anything would be offensive. But luckily I, even though my English was terrible, tried to say a warning would be beneficial. And Kitoypoy helped me with speaking English.
