The Kendrick Livery Stables and Blacksmith
Nestled in the small town of Clermont Ridge, in the western part of Texas, The Kendrick Livery Stable and Blacksmith sits and offers blacksmithing and livery services. It is owned by Donald and Linda Harper. It was one of the first businesses in Clermont Ridge. This makes it a a cherished part of local history. It sits on 10 acres.
It existed when Baxter arrived five years prior to Your Inner Child: Book I . And long before that.
It is multiple businesses in one as many were back in "The Wild West Age".
Since the building was originally made out of wood and steel or iron, it was made in parts but never actually finished. Mostly due to people helping out each other.
The Kendrick Livery Stables and Smithy was one of the first buildings in the camp where Clermont Ridge is now. It lasted for many years until people stopped using it. Once the money started drying out, Donald and Linda Harper felt it was best to cut their losses so they managed to sell the building to some company elsewhere.
But the company does nothing in some "small, Podunk town". So, the place was left rotting away without anyone to care for it.
The first business is a livery stable.
A livery yard is a place where horses are stabled and their owners pay a fee for the services rendered (food, vet, ETC.). Some liveries are also riding schools. Many liveries normally include a loose box and access for the horse to graze on grass. They are called livery yards, livery stables, and liveries, and are sometimes a boarding stable.
In Clermont Ridge, their livery yard is used to give riding lessons and sell horses and carriages.

The second business is the blacksmith.
A blacksmith is one of six smithing types. They hold a general knowledge of fixing and making things. They work with iron and steel. Most blacksmiths create functional items like hardware, tools, and architectural elements. Sometimes, they also produce decorative pieces. Blacksmiths are often farriers, the people who shoe horses.
Some blacksmiths are also tinsmiths and coppersmiths. Coppersmiths work with copper and create pots and pans and decorative objects while tinsmiths work with tinware.
Blacksmiths, and smiths in general, work in a smithy or a forge. They are also called a blacksmith's shop.
The Smithy of Clermont Ridge is also a horse farrier and wheelwright and a carriage maker.
