Week 1 Theme - Nourishment
"If you believe with all your heart and soul, then nothing will stop you." - AP Spirit to Baxter
We’re starting with… food! Ok, not just food. In fact, this theme is way more general than it seems! For example, technology is “nourished” by an energy source, plants feed on sunlight, and it’s often said that philosophy and spirituality “nourish the soul”. Basically, anything that gets “consumed” for a positive effect is nourishment, physically or metaphorically. Yes, this theme goes pretty deep—you could almost say it’s food for thought!
Assignment 1 - Nourishment Question
Think about ways the theme of Nourishment affects your world. Do people generally have what they need? What happens when they don’t?
On Earth, there is a large percentage of people who do NOT have what they need. Goods are not produced for the population. Drinkable water is not enough. Resources of various kinds are scarce. Governments make it hard for people to receive services and things they need.
People die, go into debt, and sometimes live in the streets.
Unless a question specifically mentions food, I will answer questions about religion and belief instead.
NOTE: Please note the pledge cards are above the weekly countdown.
Assignment 3 - Updating Meta
I understand the idea behind having one. It just doesn't work for my world.
A primer doesn't work for
Your Inner Child Series. This is due to it being a book which includes discovering things all the time! Therefore,
Your Inner Child Series: World of Ancient Power Codex follows the thought process of allowing people to not view articles which aren't known yet thereby avoiding spoilers past "Chapter 5: Return of Ancient Power". Unless it was already revealed in Second World.
But I also want my readers to explore the world (what's known at least) how they want to. I am not one to force somebody to read things on a particular path they don't want to go down. I want them to explore their interests.
Yes, there are articles I think they should read to get a basic overview. To know the basics of my world. But not a list of things to read as if they're participating in college reading each chapter of a textbook.
I'm setting up articles also to read when new titles, locations, items, and people come on page for the first time.
Week 2 - Roots
Roots are foundations, the beginnings of things. And that's worldbuilding gold! The past is gone, but its effects are felt throughout history. And while the past is messy and full of events that shouldn’t repeat, it’s also the reason we are where we are—standing on the shoulders of giants! So, for this theme, we’re going back to the roots of your world and exploring where your characters and cultures come from. You don’t need to write a detailed history, but thinking about the origins of things will make the present time of your world all the more real and interesting.
Assignment 1
Look at the cultures and areas you’ll focus on for Summer Camp, and think about how their past shaped them.
I already know.
Assignment 2
Go to your world’s homepage and imagine you’re a new reader discovering the setting for the first time. What should you change to make the experience more engaging?
I am not going to change anything.
Assignment 3
Find your earliest worldbuilding project. What mistakes did you make that you want to avoid? What good ideas from those early days can you integrate into your current project? Remember to take a moment to be proud of how far you've come!
This world is my first and only world I've built.
Week 3 - Metamorphosis
While our roots are ever present, the world slowly transforms and takes on new forms. And so should your world, if you want it to feel a living dynamic place! A metamorphosis isn’t a mere change, it’s natural evolution, or transformation with intent. It’s not about what changes, but about why it changes—and why some people don’t want this transformation to happen! Knowing the roots of your setting will be really helpful here, as you need to know where you’re coming from to understand what will change.
Assignment 1
What transformations and adaptations have the people in your world gone through?
Climate change is both historic and going on in modern times. This includes Snowball Earth, extinction events, and Ice Ages. For climate change going on now, it is humans destroying their own planet.
What changes are going on right now… and who is trying to stop them?
For climate change going on now, it is humans destroying their own planet. Some realize this is bad and trying to stop it. But it is most difficult when many do not see the evidence in front of their face. The most recent change, still happening, is people who are not part of society. Many are also standing up for rights for all no matter who they are.
Assignment 2
Shake things up!
You are a metamorphosis machine: you take inspiration, add perspiration, and turn it into something brand new!
Inspiration + Perspiration = Creation!
Many worldbuilders get inspiration from music, art, books, or media—these probably inspired you to create your own world! This week, let’s step outside of your comfort zone for a bit: look for new inspiration sources! Explore music you wouldn’t listen to otherwise, look for art you would usually not look for, and maybe even read a book in a new genre or by a new author.
To find inspiration sources you don’t know about, try asking a friend or family member, or the community! They’ll probably have different tastes from you, and most people are happy to recommend their favorite music or books!
Choose a new genre, style, or author, and take a look at their art! Write what you learned from them and what inspired you.
During June, it is SC Homework Prep Month and Game of Tomes Prep Month. I've read articles here and there. Each author I've read decides in this homework how to approach the themes for Summer Camp in July. Each article inspires me to embrace my own quirky gay way of doing things.
Assignment 3
Learn from other worldbuilders!
Read a couple of articles from the community, give them a like (and why not a sticker!), and write about what inspired you.

Week 4 - Tomorrow
Assignment 1
Think about current events that will have an impact the on the future. Who is working to create a specific kind of future?
The future of magic is created by The Legendary Guardians of Childhood. Although no one knows.
Assignment 2
Writing space is fine.
Assignment 3
Who or what will help you achieve your goal? I will have Dazzlinkat, Lady Wynter, and other streamers on TWITCH. Wordigirl if she streams and I catch it. No in-person groups.
What will your sharing strategy be during Summer Camp? I might share on streams on which Dazzlinkat or Lady Wynter host. Maybe others. Wordigirl if she streams and I catch it.

SummerCamp Certificate by World Anvil Team
Best of luck with your pledges Hunter! Have fun with summer camp. It's going to be great!
I will. And yeah, I'm doing the homework just in case I do the prompts. Trying to see what is going on this summer as I am currently on the job hunt. Pretty excited there is potential for more articles as most of mine are post-sixth chapter. Seventh and more chapters are not on Manuscripts due to life and other things.
