A Cursed Fate
Ashenford sits at the crossroads of old trade routes, as it rests unpon the old river and the land is fertile, but also cursed by misfortune. Throughout its history, it has been razed, flooded, and abandoned more times than any other town in northern Ardania. Each generation swears to make it stronger, but the scars of past destruction are still visible in its crooked streets and layered foundations.Today, the town is known for its resilience as the Locals have joke about its misfortune, “We do not build walls, we plant roots.” Citizens believe that if Ashenford falls again, they’ll simply rebuild. Yet every time rebuilding has occurred it residents have left omens and “protective charms” hung over doors to avoid losing their homes and businesses should it ever happen again.Tourism
