Healer Amaryllis , Mom (a.k.a. Mother Amaryllis)
I met with a leprechaun when she was young. She was surrounded by a large number of children, all of whom called her mom, or mother Amaryllis. She later told me only one was biologically hers, the rest she had collected over the years. As her child made more friends she collected more children.
Physical Description
Special abilities
Like all leprechauns Amaryllis can see magic when she concentrates on it. This assists her in her healing abilities since she could see where the natural flows have knotted in the body.
Apparel & Accessories
Amaryllis prefers to wear dresses in various shades of green. When she wears tunics and trews they too are always green. The only jewelry she wears are earrings as they are less likely to come off while she is in surgery, and she doesn't have to remember to remove or put them back on as she would with other jewelry.
Specialized Equipment
Amaryllis always carries her medical bag with all the accoutrements of her profession; scalpels, bandages, poultices, and salves. She also creates her own splints for winged creatures. These have to be specially made to be light enough not to harm the wing but strong enough to immobilize it.

Personal history
As a young girl Amaryllis was enchanted by the sprites living near her village. She watched a young female sprite hit with a board while her father was building an extension on their house. She ran over and picked up the injured sprite carefully and ran to the local healer in hopes of saving the poor creature. Unfortunately, Amaryllis' little legs could not move fast enough and the sprite died in her hands before she made it to the healer's hut. This broke her spirit. When she knocked on the healer's door she could hardly see due to the tears in her eyes and running down her cheeks.
The healer invited Amaryllis in to comfort her. While there the healer and Amaryllis talked about life and how fragile it could be. Amaryllis decided then she would become a healer so this type of situation would never happen again if she could avoid it. She spent the next one hundred years learning healing from the local healer. She focused her training on mental health and flying creatures. Her first patient was, a male sprite with a broken wing, named Petal.
Over the next few centuries she worked as a healer and had a small family. Her husband died when he dove into a lake to rescue a young satyr from drowning. She raised their daughter alone, collecting children as she did. All her extra children were Sunshine's friends.
After Sunshine moved away, Amaryllis began taking students on occasion, teaching the art of healing. Petal returned to her at this point and decided he was going to move in. Petal created a nest out of her hair. Because of the difference in ages between Amaryllis and her students she considered them to be her children as well. Her last student was Amarna, who, after training returned to Herigberg and opened an official school for healing with the patronage of the Crown.
Education
Amaryllis spent her early childhood learning from her parents. They taught her to read and write, do sums, and about history. After she had passed her coming of age ritual she began learning from the local healer, Amanda.
Employment
Once she completed her training, she became a practicing healer and a teacher.

Because of her profession, Amaryllis is very fastidious in her hygiene. She understands the need to keep herself and her work area clean and free of detritus.

Contacts & Relations
The sprite Petal, lives with Amaryllis because she seemed lonely with her daughter gone. Even though she had students over the years, Petal became her constant companion. They are only really god friends and there is nothing romantic between them. Petal's choice to move in with Amaryllis was due to her treatment of his broken wing. Though he could live with other sprites he found he wanted to learn about healing from Amaryllis. He never worked up the courage to ask for formal training, but has learned by watching. There are times when he runs errands for Amaryllis. He also works as her information network by spending time with other sprites when they travel.
Social Aptitude
Amaryllis exudes confidence in everything she does. Her charismatic nature allows her to sooth her patients while she is checking on them. She always knows what to say to ease their fears and reassure them, they are in good hands.
Hobbies & Pets
Amaryllis is an avid gardener. Her garden is the pride of the town. Her herbs are the best in the region, for she uses them in her cooking and treatments. Her vegetable garden provides all her needs. The flowerbeds in the front of the house provides both colour and additional supplements to Amaryllis' meals. Everything she grows has more than one purpose.
When Amaryllis isn't healing others or puttering in her garden, she paints. Her art, like her garden is multi-purpose. She uses art as a way to help her patients during recovery, especially if they have not been able to move much or use a limb due to the type of injury they had sustained. For those who need to regain control in their hands and arms, she would set up an easel and board in a room designated for physical recovery.
