Reign of the worst empress the Drow empire has ever had, Empress Lyriel Vlyn'dara.
The Imperial Age, also known as the Age of Empires, was marked by many great established empires. It was an age of stability with deities influencing their own little bits of the world and not bothering each other.
Deep in the chasms of the Scarred Jungle an expedition of Tamorian crystal experts uncover a gigantic crystal. After excavation they discover a much smaller crystal within the giant crystal. They speculate that this crystal could be The Crystal that unlocks more powerful magics that will help their society become better than anything that had ever existed.
Tamoria, the highly advanced magocratic empire is abruptly destroyed when The Crystal fails, causing wild magic explosions throughout all of the empire. The wild magic explosions devastated the land, leaving craters the size of cities in places where mages were conducting the most elaborate magical experiments.
The Apotheosis and subsequent death of Arthanios, last king of Arethas, marked the end of the Imperial Age. The new age was usually abbreviated as AA, symbolic for a new start. The earliest meaning of AA in the context of a new era was Apotheosis Arthanios. This was likely by someone who thought the ascension to godhood was the beginning of a new era with Arthanios as their god. Soon after records used AA as an abbreviation of either After Arthanios or After Arethas. Much later the 7 families standardized it to After Arthanios, since the empire of Arethas took a lot longer to fall apart.
The apotheosis of Arthanios, last king of Arethas. King Arthanios was deeply in love with the goddess Timurantia and wanted to marry her. He decided he had to ascend to godhood for this. Arthanios succeeded and for all of a day he was a god. He no longer felt the need to marry Timurantia. He called upon his people to recognize him as the true godly protector of Arethas and reject Timurantia. Timurantia and Arthanios fought. Arthanios was defeated and unknown powers consumed him. Timurantia felt betrayed by the people of Arethas and decided to leave them. So ends the apotheosis of Arthanios, the last king of Arethas.
Family of Arturia reaches the location Timurantia revealed to them.
The first pole is hammered into the ground, marking the founding of Arturia.
A few years after the fall of Arethas the lands south of Arethas started to experience a swift and intense change. Over the course of roughly 180 years a vast mountain range formed.
Initially called the "Arturian Mountains", this mountain range would later become home to a dwarven civilization currently called "Kingdom of Bolmar".
Dormon, former Arethian city, falls to the Orcish horde from the north. The Orcs later settle in the ruins and rename it Dormok
The plains of Arethas started receiving less rain in the years following the formation of the Arturian mountains. The major winds also changed, resulting in even less rain. Over a period of roughly 250 years the blooming fertile plains of Arethas desertified to a lifeless wasteland.
All contact with Zol-Yerzan was lost. Our Stoneborn brethren turned the tide for a while but the Orcs seem to have an indestructible champion. The fortress fell, it is unclear if they managed to destroy the Mindaòrálèan Gate. I pray they did. The Orcs wouldn't be able to use this one, but if they were to replicate the technology then the entire world will be at risk.
The last ruling family of the city of Arethas leaves. With them many others left to find a new life in the east. This marked the official abandonment of Arethas. In the following years any people who were still living in the decaying city would either leave or die.
The people of Orantos rebelled against their royal family. The members of the royal family were either killed, exiled, or did not resist the rebellion in the first place. As a result, Orantos, the last city that officially considered themselves Arethian, disbands the kingdom of Arethas and renames itself to Yaverna. This marks the end of the fall of Arethas.
As recorded in the book "Terror and Heroism. Life and death of Silkwing the Toxic", Lady Tanamere Proudstar ruler of Molik put an end to the extortion of her people by the Green Dragon Silkwing the Toxic.
The family of Coven, rulers of Covencrown declare war on the kingdom of Azag as a response to the unsanctioned expansion of Dwarven settlements on the south side of the mountains. The Kingdom of Azag had founded the settlement of Azek on the southwest side of the mountain range. Coven correctly saw this as an attempt to circumvent the duties that Dwarves paid to Covencrown for selling goods to the Daerelos Confederacy.
Ellekris Coven sent the majority of his troops to Azek while he defended Covencrown from an approaching Dwarven army. His defense was succesful and he set out to join his main army. The armies of Covencrown at Azek had an overwhelming superiority in numbers. Azek was turned to ruin and its inhabitants were slaughtered before Ellekris was able to catch up.
Ellekris opened an offensive campaign and drove the Dwarves back as far as what is now known as the Pass of Azag. He believed that any further offensive action would be unjust given their reason for war, Azek, was dealt with. He believed that with several thousands of Dwarves temporarily displaced, it was now up to the Dwarves to request a diplomatic resolution.
The Dwarves remained silent for seasons, aside from the occasional skirmish. Over a year after the war began, the Dwarves of Azag with aid of their subterranean kin, had mined the walls of Covencrown and flooded the city in what was known as the Darkest Night.
The events that followed ended the war resulting in Azek being rebuilt as the Mines of Doliak, Covencrown being renamed Covenhold, and the family of Coven abdicating as a ruling party of the greater Daerelos Confederacy.
After almost a year since the last major conflict during the Azag-Coven war the Dwarves of Azag, with aid of their subterranean kin, mined the walls of Covencrown and flooded the city. Fillantina Coven, ruler of Covencrown, known as Fillantina the Resolute, made a deal with a figure she believed to be the spirit of Arthanios. He cleansed the streets of the invaders but at his moment suprême he was struck from the heavens by a meteorite.
A star fell on the eastern side of the mountains near Cloudfall. The Dragonborn went to investigate and found a completely reshapen landscape. A second expedition found amongst the thick dark mists the remnants of the star. This massive crater of black rock was to be the center piece of a new city they'd call Darkstar.
Godfried Ovesten, ruler of Molik, formally recognizes Black Dust as a town under the protection of Molik.
The lands around Molik and Varsh experience strange phenomena which were later revealed to come from a Feyburst. People became whimsical and extravagant causing the cities and towns to fall into some form of controlled disorder. On the 48th of Bloom groups of people started disappearing or changing. Two days later the disappearances stopped. Many strange creatures had come to the region, including several families of surprisingly civilized goblins.
Saggy the Sacker unites the Naked Goblin Tribes to the northwest of Krawt and becomes their leader.
With such a massive army at his disposal he set out to sack all human towns, with as ultimate goal to sack Krawt. With his army he burned villages and towns including Philsugt and Halsrest. The army of Krawt faced them in the open fields and lost. The defeat was mainly due to the absolute chaotic nature of combat with Goblins, something which the army was not prepared to handle.
As the march of terror continued the remaining garrison from Krawt was reinforced by the royal army of Danil. Luckily Krawt was never besieged as Saggy the Sacker was assassinated. It never became clear if this was an internal or external assassination but the former is most likely. After his death his warhost fell apart into smaller factions who either went back to the Naked Goblin Hills or settled somewhere along the route back home.
Aeons since the Drow were driven under ground a few of their descendants are chosen to change the lands at the surface. Like a spider that has outgrown its hardened shell, they too have out grown the rocky embrace of the Depths. They shed their earthy skin and emerge with a power that is pretty neat. With darkness in their souls, their curse... their gift, that which was imposed on them... they bring in the herd and feast on the lambs.
After Rexinthar Ovesten, heir to the throne of Molik, was assassinated the royals called in the priests of Lenneyart to resurrect Rexinthar. Holy Knights and Priests of Lenneyart entered the city, accompanied by an inquisition led by the Knights of Gillianthe. It was revealed the assassin was a Drow and a manhunt was set in motion. After only 2 days the alleged assassin was captured by the guards of Stephan Lundgren, the royal who had taken the initiative for the manhunt. After a swift, one day, trial Obsterris Cenvix was found guilty of assassinating Rexinthar and sentenced to death. The next morning as Obsterris was about to be executed a demonic entity emerged from him, raising a catastrophic demonic invasion focused on killing the royals and the servants of Lenneyart. As the Demons were winning a priest spoke a desperate prayer. Shortly after, a Solar showed up with seven Divine Archers. Before they could engage the Demons a Marut showed up, creating a standoff between these divine entities. Several more portals opened to various other divine realms. Those who stepped through these portals were spectators but were clearly capable of interfering if they felt like doing so. After brief verbal conflict the Solar and Marut turned to the Demonic entity and took their leave. In a final spiteful act the Demonic entity caused fires, storms, and earthquakes that devastated the city. In the end Rexinthar was once again assassinated. He was last seen fleeing towards the castle with two royal guards, an acolyte, and three city guards.
