A few years after the fall of Arethas the lands south of Arethas started to experience a swift and intense change. Over the course of roughly 180 years a vast mountain range formed.
Initially called the "Arturian Mountains", this mountain range would later become home to a dwarven civilization currently called "Kingdom of Bolmar".

Only 5 years after the fall of Arethas the lands directly south of Arethas started to experience heavy earthquakes. Shortly after the earthquakes started the earth opened up. Vast stretches of deep volcanic lakes formed, as if the world had been cut and had wounds.
The earthquakes stopped and the wounds started to heal. As the wounds healed volcanos started to form. These volcanos were quiet, without violent eruptions. The constant lava flow kept the land uninhabitable and untraversable. Almost a hundred years since the wound opened up another series of earthquakes started. The land that had formed in the wound was pushed together, creating a mountain range. This process took roughly 80 years and was accompanied with may more heavy earthquakes. The last significant earthquake was recorded in Growth 188AA.   The old Arethians believe it was the wrath of Timurantia that cut the earth so that they could not get to the shores to escape the various threats to the lands of Arethas.
