Mochi's WAWA 2025 Submissions!
Ohoho! The Worldbuilding Awards is almost upon us! It's always a fun time, celebrating the best of our works and feeling the light-hearted competition in the World Anvil Community.
If I've not talked about it enough, last year I took home the coveted Best World award! I'm not going to top that (literally, I'm not submitting anything for it), so I might as well just enjoy the competition for what it is, a chance to share worldbuilding I'm proud of, and celebrate my friends!
Below are all of my entries for the Awards. I'm very proud of my worldbuilding, and these entries I believe are some of my best! When the voting period begins, I will be posting an article containing my own top picks from every category, including who I voted for, which I will not disclose!

Most Beautiful World
I am throwing my hat into the ring for Most Beautiful World with the A to Zoo! This is a side-project of mine set within the Yonderverse setting, and it is a chance for me to truly showcase my love for the natural world and conservation. Last year it underwent a complete redesign, with brand new CSS and article styling.
Even if I'm not actively working on the A to Zoo, it will hold a special place in my heart. My worldbuilding truly first began as a kid, when I would create the world's biggest zoo, and I'd spend hours listing all of the enclosures it would have, and all of the animals living in my zoo. The A to Zoo is the closest I'll ever get to living those dreams, because fun fact, it's actually not currently possible to create a zoological facility in a sub-dimension with trillions of species.
Best Article
I spent a full two weeks working on this article, and I powered through sickness to get it done. I went on holiday with family around May-June 2024, to a beautiful chapel-turned holiday home around some absolutely stunning scenery. We visited waterfalls and saw wildlife, which inspired me to spend some time fleshing out a river in my world, describing its ecosystem, impact on the surrounding peoples, and everything else that comes with it.
Getting sick stumped my plans for a bit but I powered through and this is my favourite article I've ever created! I've never spent so long on a single article in my world, and I think it really paid off.
Hearts & Minds
For the Hearts & Minds award, I wanted to showcase a beloved character of mine. She is the true embodiment of what this award means, and is always there for her friends and her community.
Rise of Nations
Well if it isn't my most liked article! I'm so proud of this shortlisted entry to the Institutions of Learning challenge, I poured my heart and soul into it and I think it showcases the love I have for my world.
Wondrous Nature
Planktonic storms showcase how deadly the Yonderverse can be. I was originally going to submit the Algol, but decided to replace it with this entry so I can submit the Algol for Best Article.
Strength & Honour
This is now my favourite conflict I've ever written, and once again it showcases the darker side of the Yonderverse. This is a brutal conflict that wiped out entire civilisations and has had lasting effects on an entire solar system.
Pillars of Progress
The whimsical slimes of Osao have now ventured beyond their squishy little planet, and farther into the solar system they call home! I enjoy this article for what it is, a chance for me to expand the cultural connections between different planets.
History Award
I kind of regret submitting this, because it pales in comparison to my entry last year (which was nominated!). Nevertheless, this timeline has massively helped me coordinate the historical events of Norrab, which is growing more complex as time goes on.

Cartography Award
I'm submittting my map of Venus to the regular Cartography Award since it showcases what you can do with WA's map features more than the art itself. I'm still proud of it, and I really enjoyed turning Venus from a real-life, lifeless planet, to one sprawling with people and places.

Artist's Cartography Award
I am really hoping for this award, and it's the entry I've put the most work into polishing, specifically for WAWA. Norrab is my most well developed planet, and I wanted to show that through its map!
I am so excited for WAWA! So much creativity and talent! I am 100% sure you'll do amazing (as it is expected)! Good luck <3 (p.s. I "stole" this article and featuring it in mine- I hope you don't mind!)
I'm so excited for you! I know you'll do well <33 and thank you so much!
