Giant Flower Blooming
The giant flowers of Cilvarth blooming marks the beginning of spring. Their giant petals go into hiding during autumn, concealed in the cold during winter, emerging once again as the new year starts. The rising temperatures also see cilvarthians become more active, as they are terrible at regulating their own body temperatures.
Giant flowers serve as the main structural support for many houses in rural areas of Cilvarth, particularly in northern Jisefea. During winter the stems become more rigid, and in spring the flowers loosen, becoming squisher and swaying in the wind more. This typically isn't an issue, but for smaller, thinner flowers, springtime brings worry of the house falling down.
I love this! Oh, look up transpiration if you haven't yet. The petals hiding reminded me of that. It might inspire you some more :)
