The Pride of Axrigh
Clare Nores
Clare Nores lived in a children's home in central Visismolia for the first eight years of her life named the Shelter of Wings. She had never known her parents and was dropped off the day she was born, but she never cared about that. She was more than close enough with the other children to make up for it, though the caretakers were endlessly strict. This alone could not make Clare unhappy, but she did gain a distaste for authority.
In 8334, the Risen reached the shelter, and Clare escaped with half of the children. As they fled, many died and Clare became the first ever Crowned, but in the end, Clare and a few others reached Axrigh, a southern Visismolian city that held its fort against the Risen.
Today, she has joined the Legion in hopes of making it up to her friends that passed, especially those who died while fighting the Monarch from which she got her decree. Although she's one year too young to join the Legion by standard means, her Coronation meant that the Legion felt obligated to pick her up as an asset, especially when she threatened to fight them alone if they didn't accept her. She is now one of the only two students of Keona.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Clare is on the weaker side, as she has never gone through any sort of training. Still, she's not totally unfit as she ran plenty around the fort while she lived in Axrigh. She was very active as a child, so it's likely that she'll catch up to most recruits quickly, and it's not like she'll take any hits thanks to her decree.
Identifying Characteristics
Across Clare's back, there are three vertical lines of inscription from her Coronation. When her decree activates, the inscriptions wobble depending on which direction she'll dodge in, the left and right lines in their respective directions, and the middle if she dodges up or down.
Special abilities
If a form of contact that she can see would damage her, Clare dodges it without fail. That is her decree. While simple, it makes her a formidable opponent even without much formal training.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Clare lived quite happily in the Shelter of Wings for most of her life. She got along well with the other kids, and though she had many disputes with the adults that took care of them, it was never anything serious enough for her to view her time there negatively.
After the Rising, the shelter tried to conceal the news from the children's ears. They didn't have the means to escape with everyone, and the caretakers decided it would be for the best that none escaped at all, believing they would all be reunited in the afterlife. This attempt failed, as the Rising was such an impactful event that everyone in the continent had heard of it within a year. A year and a half passed with the children knowing about it, but it was hard to get out of the shelter in the first place, and the caretakers made sure that nobody could leave after they caught them trying to get away once. It became more about exercising authority than the "grand purpose" they had in mind in the first place.
As the Risen arrived, their more natural human instincts came out, and everyone fled, even the adults. With the help of a stolen map, the children headed south toward the capital of Visismolia in hopes that the royal elites could protect them. On their way, however, they were attacked by an injured Risen. It had the likeness of a lizard and moved quickly, killing many children regardless of age. Ultimately, Clare managed to latch onto its back and bit its throat, killing it. What she didn't expect was the amount of pain that shot through her body afterward. She wailed for five minutes straight before passing out. Those that remained, mostly teenagers, thought that she was crying because of what she'd seen. The truth was that Clare had just gone through a Coronation, and when she awoke, she found that there were black inscriptions all across her upper back that wouldn't wash away no matter how much she scrubbed. She told no one.
Once the group reached a city, Axrigh, not the capital, they were quickly ushered into the fort and given a room to stay in. Clare grew up in Axrigh as if the Risen were not even a thing aside from the periodic drills and motions they'd go through when they were under attack. She was going through first aid training when she found out about Addison Ross's ability and the markings across his chest. She realized that he was the same as her and sent a letter to the Legion about the matter. Once confirmed, Clare's status was announced to the whole city, and she became a symbol overnight. She had to somewhat pressure the Legion to let her join despite being a year too young, but once she was in, there was no trouble, and after thriving in the Prospective Rookie Tournament, she became an apprentice of Keona.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Clare was the first to ever kill a Monarch-class Risen, and it is no small feat either given that its decree was to dodge anything it could see. Outwardly, she gives herself plenty of credit for this, but at no point has she felt that it was worth it.
Mental Trauma
The age at which Clare underwent a Coronation has certainly altered her in some way. The pain tolerance of a civilian, much less a child, is not appropriate for the process of becoming Crowned. She still feels a stinging pain when something touches her back, and she has an intense insecurity about leaving it unguarded. Overall, she is much the same, but after watching so many of her friends die and very soon after experiencing the torturous Coronation, her genuine happiness has never returned. She can still be unserious and joke around, but a real smile has not been on her face in years.

Motivation
Clare wants to make it up to those that died so that she will feel worthy of meeting them in the afterlife. In return for their lives, she has decided that she must play a central role in the retaking of East Veilinia.

Social
Social Aptitude
Clare gets along very well with just about anyone she meets, as at heart, she's a people person, and people like her energy and motivations. She's externally confident and extroverted, and though she has her share of insecurities, she doesn't let them show. Her main flaw, known by many, is that she hates being told what to do. She didn't enjoy it as a child, and after it got many of her friends killed, her natural urge is to resist authority.
Wealth & Financial state
Clare has very little to her name as she spent most of her money on sustaining herself while living in Axrigh. She has enough to clothe herself beside her uniform, but she has no plans to live beyond her current means.
