Murkmire
Dwelling deep in the Southern reaches of Ustremmel, the bogs and marshes of Murkmire shift and expand. Ancient monsters pour from its very heart, surging forward into the lands of humans and Fey alike.
Geography
The Murkmire is a series of marshes, swamps, and pine forest that extend from the Southern tip of Ustremmel. It borders the Feywild River and continues all the way down to the territories of man. The entire area is covered in a thick, dense fog that makes travel difficult.
Ecosystem
Murkmire has a highly competitive ecosystem with all manner of creatures fighting over limited territory and resources. The permeating rot makes finding fresh prey difficult, especially as the area becomes marshier in the Southern reaches. Thee only fresh, drinkable water comes from the Feywild river that the Murkmire borders, making this the one location where wolves, bears, and other natural wildlife lives and thrives. The other parts of the Murk have been infested by a mixture of fungal and other magical creatures.
Localized Phenomena
The Murkmire experiences similar spacial and time warping to the Feywild, although it isn't nearly as strong. The environment itself is also expanding, reaching deeper into human and Fey territory at a rate that seems unnatural for any forest or mrash.
Climate
The Murkmire has an incredibly hot, damp climate that doesn't change throughout the changing seasons.
