Theta Yaros VII

A large ice giant of the Theta Yaros System.

Theta Yaros VII is mostly important to the Zikrat Scientific Citizenry economy because of the large amount of gases present in its atmosphere, which is harvested for this gas. Unlike on a gas giant, the materials available on an ice giant are heavier and elements such as oxygen start to become common rather than being made almost purely out of hydrogen. As such, ice giant material is less useful as fusion reactor fuel but more useful in various industrial processes which may make use of these heavier gases. Around the planet orbits a large number of moons as well, most of which have large mines established on them. This way, they can extract a large variety of different resources.

Theta Yaros VII takes up a deep blue colour because of the large amount of oxygen in the atmosphere, and the atmosphere is quite dense. 

The planet also has a fairly large core for a gas/ice giant. It is thought that over time, many more asteroids have fallen into Theta Yaros VII than an average gas giant, so the solid matter accumulates at the bottom. This gives the core a significant metal content, which would be highly useful for the ZSC in particular with building more objects, especially since their people are robotic. However, they have not been able to reach and exploit this core yet. Many groups have set out to find a technology that would be able to extract materials from ice giant cores because it would likely make them very rich. Progress has been made in this field, but they have not figured out how to drill into the solid core from a gas giant collection station which is orbiting the planet and constantly moving.
