Repository 23-Q
One of the first Zikrat Scientific Citizenry personality repositories built in history (read the article for Zikrat Scientific Citizenry).
Repository 23-Q is known to be somewhat limited by technological constraints at the time. The Zikrat understanding of this new technology was limited, so Repository 23-Q was comparatively small in size and with a population of only 2 million souls, it was not close to strong enough to house an entire city population, let alone that of the entire planet. It did however serve to improve personality repository technology, so personalities got more compact and repositories could become larger thanks to lessons learned from 23-Q. The zikrats thus launched a huge effort to establish more, larger repositories to house ever larger populations before eventually the entire global population became digitised. Repository 23-Q was also known to have a significantly lower energy consumption than other repositories, as well as being easier to maintain due to having simpler parts and less advanced computing devices. As such, it required relatively little maintenance, and the repository made it a high priority that maintenance done on it was done to a high standard. Some of its components were known to be located in strange areas, particularly its main reactors which were positioned near the edges of the structure. These would power individual sectors of the structure so that if one generator fails the majority of the structure would remain powered to hopefully fix the failed section. In theory, only one section would need to survive to repair the others, and this scheme was used in a number of repositories later.
Initially, only the richest zikrat could afford to live in such a structure and many measures have been taken to improve its long term survivability. During the Repository Age, money became irrelevant very quickly which largely reduced the value of the repository lower than that of other repositories. Its computational capability was far lower than later, larger repositories.
During the Repository Age, they have managed to form alliances with a number of other repositories, allowing them to trade more advanced materials in return for less advanced materials that were more compatible with their structure. This would allow them to maintain their repository more easily.
This repository survived well into the Repository age, like most others. Being constructed with older technology, and much smaller, it surprisingly lasted longer than 70% of other repositories during this age but it ultimately collapsed before the solution (Bill 43) was found. It was completely dismantled while the zikrat were rebuilding their civilization as robotic entities thousands of years in the future, and its scrap was used to build a lot of infrastructure in the area as its metal was of a stronger type. It became part of several skyscrapers and a city was built nearby, as the value of this much scrap metal was too great to deny. This is known, as its history has been recorded by several other archives. However, as the repository collapsed it left a significant hole in the ground and much of this hole is still present so some people come to honor the repository.
