Nishrek

Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
Nishrek is Gruumsh’s war-realm hammered across the face of a titan cube on Avalas. What began as a single fortified frontage has, over ages of conquest and collision, swollen to dominion over an entire block: A flat cube like structure, iron-hard expanse trench-scarred for miles and ringed by conical redoubts. Here the orcish pantheon musters its petitioners, drills its captains, and meets Goblin legions from Clangor whenever the cubes drift close enough to trade volleys and boarding hooks.

Geography

Nishrek presents as a flat square, barren plain cut by four perimeter trenches and two more that cross at the center, six arteries of supply, ambush, and retreat. Where countless Iron fortresses and siege towns are occupied, abandoned, and re-occupied as the cube itself erodes and Avalas’ orbits bring new enemies within reach.
The surface itself is traditionally divided into three quarters plush trench and center sectors, each ruled by a great clan:
  • Rotting Eye, White Hand, Three Fank, are three clans sworn directly to Gruumsh.
  • Iron Fist, Broken Skull, are two clans that are under Bahgtru.
  • Blood Armor, is the place where Ilneval once ruled and Luthic has taken under her care along with the Black Claw, where they provide healing and when ordered, loosing plagues.

Notable Locations

The Styx Spur
A segment of the Styx sometimes rakes a face of the cube, swallowing bastions one campaign and disgorging them the next.

Inhabitants

Nishrek’s populace is overwhelmingly orc petitioners (with half-orc kindred and allied brutes in supporting arms), mustered by clan and oath. Ogres and trolls answer the war-horn since Vaprak swore his strength to Gruumsh. Hellwasp swarms and other battlefield vermin are a constant spoiler, even perfect plans melt in a heartbeat when the air turns black.

Localized Phenomena

Endless Muster
Creatures slain in open battle on Nishrek’s face reform at sundown with their gear and scars; executions, accidents, and treachery do not trigger the reset.
Collision Windows
When Avalas cubes drift into contact, pre-measured breach ladders and anchor-bolts appear from Nishrek’s trenches, minutes of mayhem to seize ground before the cubes part.
Styx Drift
If the river’s course shifts across a face, memory hazards complicate command; units exposed to its spray may forget orders, allegiances, or whole campaigns until nightfall’s reset.
