The K'Thoni River System

The story goes thusly. It was during the reign of the first King of Kimion. Before it was Kimion, before the Oslyna, before the Empire of Transyl, and so before the Free Cities broke away from Transyl. There was no water. The only naturally occurring rivers on Oliviara are in the south, far from the king's roost, and on the other side of the west K'Thoni mountains. And though they may be close, those flow east, away from the king's domain. So what is a legendary god king to do when his people are thirsty? When rainwater is insufficient and he has only one tool left at his disposal? And that tool is magic. Well, if you are the King of the Rivers, as he came to be known, you simply create a fresh water spring at the highest point of your territory; in his case, that happened to be the ever-important Peaks, which now safeguard Kimion's capital, Alexandelios. And so it was done with minimal effort on the part of his Holy Majesty. The rocks opened, and a deluge of water sprung forth, flowing down the mountains and across the lands, fertilizing the plains and creating the great forest Oliviara was once known for, and carving the rock down, creating the vast system of estuaries and tributaries and flooding the low land of what is now south Kimion to form the Goria Lake. Now the King's true name has been lost to the annals of history, but his feat of magic gave birth to the lifeline of nations and cut the very borders of the kingdoms that exist today.
