Blue Stream of the K'Thoni River

The Great Blue Stream. It is called this because of its vibrant blue hue caused by the river's limestone bed. The single longest river in Oliviara, it has been used as everything from a main trade route during the domination of the Great Empire of Transyl to the border of nations. The river cuts southward, diverging from the Yellow Stream of the K'Thoni Rivera matter of miles before The City of Goria. The river serves as the eastern limit of the city, and a small distributary breaks off and cuts west, creating the city's southern boundary as well. This distributary is wide and fast flowing, and it feeds its magically infinite source of water into the Goria Lake, where the city gets its name. This monumental lake was once just the lowest land of the Kimion territory. On the other side of the lake, south of Kimion and west of the great river, lies the Free City state of Iriss, only separated from its old withered enemy by a distributary of the powerful force of magic and nature that flows southwest into the Gulf of Transylvania. On the east bank of that same distributary, wedged between the river and its offshoot lies the most northern part of the old Transylian Empire, merely a frontier since the free city of Wisteria to the south of it laid ruin to the city there; the forests have reclaimed it as they want to do. East of the Blue Stream itself and on the other side of the bank from the sliver of Transylian land lie the ruins of Oslyna. The river curves around the barren, cursed desert and keeps its secrets well away from the still-inhabited world. Further south is the Empire of Transyl, the greatest civilisation of the Titan race. An empire built on and around the Great Blue Stream. Once stretching the whole length of the river they call the Ceinen Lur, encompassing nearly the whole continent, they are now confined to the south east of Oliviara, where the Blue Stream takes its most drastic shapes. At the north of the empire's dominion, it splits twice, one taking the path of least resistance and flowing into an ancient lake created by another river flowing from the Hidden Lake far north in Old Oslyna. The other meanders south before flowing back north due to the country's strange topography and reaching the same lake, although this distributary too has a distributary that flows south and into the south Desolin Sea. The river continues south, splitting several times before continuing along its way. Amongst these last braided streams, you will find the capital of Transyl, the ancient city of Vanis, the oldest on the continent, or so they claim. Here you'll find some of the oldest of things in Oliviara, including some of the oldest temples, the oldest schools, the single oldest bank, and so forth. A distributary flows south-west towards the city of Perseph as the rest of the river heads south-east. One last distributary leads to the oldest surviving port in the empire only missing the title of oldest on the continent by Goldwater, the port in the city of East Omeni. At the end of the river is a temple, older than any civilization by a measure of eras. It is believed that worshippers of the King of the Rivers built it to venerate him. The royal family of Transyl has been burying their dead on the grounds of the temple for as long as they've been the lords of the area. The Blue Stream is massive. One of the key defining features of the continent. Some see it as a resource, some see it as property, some worship it as a god or as the gift from the gods themselves, but the entire continent, all titans, even those who have never seen it up close, know of its significance.
