Grey Stream of the K'Thoni River
The Grey Stream, called this because of the silt and sediment carried along by its flow, is the shortest of the rivers in the K'Thoni system. But it is no less important than it's longer cousins. It is also the only river that flows into the capital as opposed to out of it. Created by King Eurilla II in an attempt to repeat the feat of the King of the Rivers, what he instead did was draw water from the Hidden Lake down the mountains into the city of Alexandelios, flooding it. Though it took quite the effort, the river eventually saw use, serving as the southeast border of Aleri and the water source of a few eastern villages. The river also serves as the highway from the K'Thoni mountain gold mines to the royal mints and goldsmiths within the walls of the kingdom's capital. For this, it gained the name the Gold Road. It has the highest continuous elevation of all the rivers and freezes on the coldest days of the year.
