Island of Altesland
At the edge of the continent of Jarindos, sat in the Western Sea, the Island of Altesland (or the Dragon's Maxilla as it is also known) is the largest island known island in the entire Radiant Nexus. Inhabited both by the Altescine (those of which the island was named after) in the west and the Leudrans in the east (who are relatively new arrivals to the island after fleeing their old home in the Tolleschaft Archipelago). The island is known for its temperate climate and flatlands, although it is often joked that it rains non-stop. Most of the island is owned by the various duchies and princely counties, with the largest being the Duchy of Ostenshire on and around the Dunkel River.
Geography
The Island of Altesland is known for its flatlands and temperate climate. Much of the upland and mountainous terrain is located along the southern edge, however, this land is relatively low commanded to much of the rest of the mountain ranges across the Radiant Nexus. The large forest of Avalon is situated in the western half the island, and the Dunkel and Frazor rivers draining out from the centre of the island into the Lange Channel and Western Sea respectively.
