Duchy of Redbrookshire
Between the lands of House Shawe and House Weston, lies the Duchy of Redbrookshire, home to House Jederick. House Jederick have stood as the most peaceful and least powerful duchy in Altesland for nearly a thousand years. That is until the rule of Duchess Jena Jederick V "the Tiger Duchess". Her brash and ambitious nature led to her invading deep into Shawe and Hunterson land, and allowing for the slow renovation of the old feudal system into a new unitary duchy.
However, as the Duchy of Ostenshire began its conquest of Altesland, Redbrookshire found itself utterly outmatched. In the year 5056, after having his army utterly demolished by a 20,000 strong Ostenshire and Coraxian army, Duke Henry II bent the knee and was declared a vassal of Ostenshire. Since then Redbrookeshire has thrived as one of the most influential duchies in the newly founded Kingdom of Leudrania, with Duchess Jena Jederick VIII being appointed Regent-Lady until King Arthur reaches maturity.
Structure
The Duchy of Redbrookshire is ruled - as the name suggests - by a duke, a duchess of House Jederick to be precise. The Jederick's have peacefully ruled Redbrookshire for over a thousand years. The duke is aided in their rule by their spouse and their Castellan (a form of advisor). Duke's and duchess' have less control of their land as they once did, with the King and Parliament having absolute authority over them, however, they still have direct authority over much of their realm.
