Baybayin (bajˈbaj.in)
On the southern coast of Pulo lies a stretch of coastline known as Baybayin, which simply means "Shoreline" in Pananalita. It is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful places on the island and is believed to be the site where the Tagápulo people first landed on Pulo. The entire region is a Punlalawigan, governed directly by the Imperial Family rather than a lesser lord - Baybayin has long been the traditional retreat of the Empress. It is renowned for its fine white sands and crystal-clear waters, and the fishing villages at either end of the Punlalawigan are said to be home to some of the happiest people in the Empire.
Since becoming Empress, Tagbawa has made it a tradition to spend a month each year at her palace in Baybayin. She chooses the month surrounding the celebrations of Emperor Matatag's birthday, when his debaucheries are at their most prominent - and most offensive to his spouse. During her retreat, Tagbawa maintains a quiet and peaceful court, granting her attendants ample time to enjoy the beauty of the region. While guests are welcome to visit, they will find no parties or grand feasts during the Empress's holiday; instead, there are simple meals prepared from the local seafood, often served outdoors, where Tagbawa may gaze upon the serene and tranquil shore.
The Empress has also upheld an older tradition of withdrawing to Baybayin during the latter half of her pregnancies, and each of the royal children has been born there. This custom is considered vital to their future role among the Tagápulo people - for by entering the world at the place where their ancestors first arrived on Pulo, they establish a sacred rapport with the spirits of those who came before them.
Notable Spirits
Baybayin is the domain of the Anito called Lasa Manta, goddess of beauty, love, and marriage. She is also revered for her protection of women in childbirth, and all the midwives of Pulo pay her homage when assisting a birth. Lasa Manta manifests as a young and radiant woman, often walking barefoot along the length of the shore, though she is seldom seen up close. Those who do behold her are said to be overcome with serenity and compassion, and with the conviction that life holds as much beauty and goodness as, if not more than, all its hardships. According to legend, the chief midwife at every royal birth becomes a vessel for Lasa Manta - a blessing credited for the fact that no empress has ever died in childbirth while laboring at Baybayin.
Geography
Baybayin stretches for twenty-six miles along Pulo's southern coast, extending about three miles inland from the shore. To the south lies the Salat Lunti, the channel that separates Pulo from the islands beyond. Fishing villages occupy the eastern and western thirds of Baybayin, while the central eight-mile stretch is reserved for the Balayhari sa Baybayin - the Empress's residence and estate overlooking the sea.

I love that it is a place of peaceful retreat for Tagbawa. She sounds like a nice person.
