Personal history
Acanth Bolls was an Ferrarian noble from the Bolls family. He served King Acanth the Second as a squire and was well respected throughout Ferraria for his patience and wisdom. He was a good friend of Villem Rinac due to being neighbours and growing up in Ferran's Hold together.
After his time as a squire for Acanth II, Bolls was made Governor of Tromt, a Ferrarian outpost on Scoriga, where he developed his skills as a bureaucrat and lawmaker, as well as proving himself to the nobility of Ferraria and making the venture a success.
He was an ally of King Pulus the First during the War of the Dragon, defending his keep of Bolfy from Chancellor Bauxtice Pellon during the Siege of Bolfy.
After the Siege of Bolfy, Keal Bolls was captured and held in captivity until the end of the war, after which he was freed. Bolls served as the chief advisor to King Pulus for the rest of his reign, helping start the transition of power between Pulus and his son Durwn.
Durwn I made Keal Bolls his chief advisor on the Ironmoot after his coronation. Durwn then left to tour his kingdom, leaving Bolls as the regent of the country. Bolls was instructed to help raise a new generation of nobility whilst Durwn toured his lands to visit his key thassals.
This made Keal Bolls a very powerful regent, as many of his pupils were already members of the Ironmoot, enabling Bolls to use them to influence voting on the Ironmoot. In addition to this, many of the positions on the Ironmoot had been allowed to lapse, further increasing his power. Regardless, Keal Bolls was a fairly popular leader, with his policy focusing on economic growth in the core regions of the kingdom and restoring the strength of the tax collection and land registry system.
Bolls was also a firm supporter of Imperial Mandates for the new colonies, reflecting his time as governor of Scoriga Tromt. One of the most important decisions of Bolls' regency was the appointment of the Governor of Nevana. Qamron Osvar was the obvious candidate for the job, with many nobles (including Keal Rinac and Lar Herad Thomarr Hirth supporting it. But the king, Osvar, and Bolls himself all wanted Osvar to remain in Ferran's Hold. Osvar eventually relented to go, but managed to manipulate someone else into taking on the governorship in his absence.
Keal Bolls died a few months before Durwn returned to the capital, causing the regency to collapse and a political crisis to occur.
Testimony written by Bolls was used during the Trial of Aleecha Boditer, suggesting that the faux-trial had been planned for some time.
After Durwn's return, Osvar replaced Bolls as Chief Advisor.
