Personal history
King Pulus I was the son of King Acanth II, taking the throne after his elderly father's death. Pulus was an extremely harsh and conservative king, increasing the power of the Cult of Kings and pursuing an aggressive foreign policy with the kingdoms of Quentar and the cities of Republia.
Pulus' severity eventually led to the rebellion of Bauxtice Pellon, the War of the Dragon. Pellon was supported by several local and foreign rulers, nearly completely defeating the forces of Pulus. Pulus was forced into Ogre's Gap, but his army was saved by the arrival of his son, Durwn, and his allies. Pulus then directed a successful campaign that led to the defeat and execution of Pellon and his allies.
After the war, Pulus completely destroyed many old families, a reversal of his previously conservative position, replacing them with a series of new bloodlines, formed from many of his allies in the War of the Dragon. This caused some unrest, but the popularity of Durwn and Pulus' military strength prevented a second rebellion starting. Pulus died of old age in 430 PT.
