Kartan
the navigator
Kartan the navigator was the first Vesajan to be accepted by Aethos to be sent to Tera. An excellent cartographer he was, but the biggest reason he was chosen, was because he had the utmost respect for everything that crossed his path. Be it living or unliving, plant or stone, Kartan could appreciate it for hours on end. Aethos was certain that these trades made him perfect for taking care of his most favourite planet.
Kartan was never much of a fighter, and therefore had a more logistic role during the Salvation He made quick work of discovering West-Theria and mapped out the entire continent in a matter of years. Together with Ykryn , he founded and reported all of his findings to the Order of the Vesaja , an organisation with the sole purpose of discovery, who on their turn would spread the information all over the continent. After this he started mapping east-theria, Firigon and lastly Suthria , where he found a whole other civilisation. This made him the driving force that connected the people of Theria with the southerners, a connection that would shape the future of humanity.
Almost a century later, the vesajan navigator had mapped out the whole planet. By now Ykryn had left the order of the vesaja, leaving Kartan to lead them on his own. Slowly Kartan prepared the order to become automomous, as he felt their knowledge had surpassed his own, and he was craving the thrill of exploration again. Unlike Ykryn, he would try to remain in close contact with the order.
With the help of Bolkion he then created the observatory , which enabled him to travel to other dimensions. The contact with his order slowly decreased as he was preoccupied with this interdimentional exploration, which became more of an obsession. So unaware of the outside world he was, that he did not even notice the destruction that was happening during the god-wars .
When he finally discovered what was going on, he was disgusted of himself and his vesajan kin. He confronted Arkun , and told him that he was going to attempt to make contact with aethos to seek guidance. Arkun was afraid of the possible repercussions and could not let this happen. He tasked his ascended general Arnethius to destroy the observatory in an attempt to slow Kartan down. This turned out to be a mistake for two reasons. The first reason being that Arkun did not anticipate that Kartan would fight to the death in an attempt to save his observatory. The second reason, is that he definitely did not consider the possibility of a Vesaja losing a fight to a mere human, which was exactly what happened. Arnethius murdered Kartan, and the enormous amount of uncontrolled magic in the dead vesajan's body caused the decay of the valley, which would slowly transform into Roth as a result.

Religion
The archive was founded by the former leaders of the order of the Vesaja, and can be seen as Kartan's greatest legacy as it has been the most global organisation until the day of today. Despite the navigator's absence and death during the god-wars, they made sure that his work would never be forgotten. His image can be found in every library on the planet, and many shrines were built where some people still mourn his death, as they believe that he died in an attempt to stop the war.
